Bo City has long carried the reputation of being one of the cleanest cities in Sierra Leone. Historically, Bo grew into a major commercial, educational and administrative centre, and today remains one of the country’s most important cities outside Freetown.

What makes Bo stand out is not only the work of the City Council, but also the community spirit. Youth groups, residents and local authorities have over the years played their part in keeping streets and public spaces clean.

Yes, Bo still has challenges with waste disposal, drainage and modern infrastructure, but its commitment to cleanliness remains something worth celebrating.

IF ONLY OUR YOUTHS COULD CHANNEL THEIR ENERGY DIFFERENTLY! 🇸🇱

Sunday’s football match was supposed to be about football, but it reportedly turned into chaos and gunshots. An innocent woman was killed by a stray bullet, while two youths also lost their lives.

Three lives gone, families left to mourn. And for what? A football match?

Our youths have so much energy. Imagine if even half of that energy was redirected into farming, skills training, entrepreneurship and building their communities instead of violence and unnecessary rivalry.

Sierra Leone has fertile land and talented young people. We need to teach our youths that hard work is not beneath them, and violence is never a solution.

Our youths are the future, but they must first survive the present.

May the souls of those lost rest in perfect peace. 🕊️
