Per , A child is dead after being struck by a MCPS school bus driver in Aspen Hill this afternoon.

Montgomery County Police and Fire & Rescue were called out to the intersection of Russett Road and Bauer Drive in Aspen Hill, Maryland just after 3pm for a crash involving a cyclist.

The child, who was on a bike, was pronounced dead a short while later.

“Wild West” or community asset?

At a joint hearing, the Montgomery County Council reviewed the Airpark Community Advisory Committee’s first annual report. Concerns included:

• Unsafe flight operations and flight school dominance
• Improper hangar practices and permitting violations
• Lack of lease enforcement
• Weak economic impact despite prime location
• Rising noise complaints and community frustration

Councilmembers called for stronger oversight, more transparency, and concrete steps for reform.
