Florence and Lumberton actually have a surplus of rainfall which hasn't happened since February in Florence.

The P*e Dee has seen almost a whole category drop on the drought monitor. The P*e Dee saw an estimated 3-6" of rain that fell over the last week. Extreme drought decreased from 57 to 40%!

Wow! Quite the difference in rainfall amounts across the area. The NWS uses these 3 main gauges in our area for record keeping. The gauge at Grand Strand Regional Airport has only see 0.2" of rain in the last 5 days whereas Florence and Lumberton have seen 3-4" since May 22.

****SIDENOTE: There have been PLENTY of areas in Horry Co. that have seen 2-3" of rain, but for the official gauge its been dry around it.

Well I didn't miss these words....HEAT INDEX! Today the temperatures will be near normal but it will feel 5-8 degrees hotter as the dewpoints are in the 70s.
