RADAR 6:36 AM --

An isolated thunderstorm in Horry County with heavy downpours from CCU to the northeast through Loris. Heavy rain, gusty winds, and of course lightning with this.

The threat of severe weather is over, but the rain will stay pretty widespread throughout the morning commute and it will stay breezy with winds 20-30 mph.

A couple isolated storms are beginning to fire up! Most of the rain with the remanents of Arthur won't get to the area until after midnight, but it will be stormy with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times.

There is a level 1 risk of severe weather and 2% tornado risk at the coast.

I spent a long weekend in Arizona visiting family and was confident in my ability to withstand the desert heat, but it proved to be brutal, reaching 108 degrees one day. 🥵🏜️🌵 Nonetheless, I had a great time and was excited to have explored a new destination.

TROPICAL STORM ARTHUR

Our first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season is here. Winds are sustained at 40 mph, so this is still incredibly weak and it will be fading fast. At this time tomorrow, it will be rainy remanent low pressure.

There won't be much for Texas or Louisiana in terms of surge or wind, but this is still a big rainmaker for the Deep South with flash flooding expected today and tomorrow.
