Erased History: The Temple of Serapis on the Quirinal Hill
Once one of ancient Rome’s largest sanctuaries, the Temple of Serapis dominated the Quirinal Hill in the 2nd century AD. Though dismantled in the Christian era, traces of this colossal Greco-Egyptian monument still survive in places like the Palazzo Colonna Gardens and the Quirinal’s famous Dioscuri statues.

Emperor Augustus' only biological child, Julia is remembered for her dramatic fall from grace. After becoming involved in a public scandal, she was exiled to an island off the coast of central Italy—an event that some ancient sources even linked to the exile of Ovid.
