The Baths of Constantine were the last and most magnificent of them all - a sprawling thermae on the Quirinal Hill that survived for more than a thousand years.

And then they vanished.

No ruins. No museum. No dramatic pile of columns. Today, visitors can walk through Rome without ever knowing they existed.
