IT’S BIGGER THAN ENAGIC
We’ve been following the Enagic story from Okinawa in 1974 to the 1987 certification milestone.
But here’s where the story gets even more interesting:
Japan’s history with alkaline electrolyzed-water technology goes beyond Enagic.
Japan has an established regulatory framework for water-electrolysis generators. Today, Japan’s PMDA recognizes continuous-flow water electrolyzers as Class II medical devices, with defined specifications for producing drinkable alkaline electrolyzed water and non-drinkable acidic electrolyzed water.
And there’s an important detail:
The Japanese regulatory framework describes an intended use involving the generation of alkaline electrolyzed water for improvement of certain gastrointestinal symptoms in home use.
That does not mean:
“Japan says alkaline water cures everything.”
It means there is a documented Japanese regulatory and technological history surrounding this type of equipment.
That distinction matters.
Because when we understand the actual framework, we can appreciate the technology without turning regulation into exaggerated health promises.
So now you know…
The story isn't just about Enagic.
It’s also about Japan’s relationship with water-ionization technology.
And tomorrow, we’re going to bring it back to Enagic:
🇯🇵 Why is Japanese manufacturing such a big part of the Enagic story?
