Happy birthday to the drummer on every one’s Mount Rushmore of drummer’s. Today’s is the one… the ONLY… John Bonham! Born May 31, 1948 but passed away too soon in 1980. Bonzo wasn’t just Led Zeppelin’s drummer… he was a force of nature. From the thunder of “When the Levee Breaks” to the legendary “Moby Dick” drum solos this guy could make the earth shake with a single kick drum.Known for his insane speed, feel, and raw power, Bonham set the gold standard for rock drumming and still inspires drummers today.Raise a glass to Bonzo. Happy Birthday, legend!

What’s your thoughts? Connection between drummers and singers, but only when they are in the pocket ?

Huey: The connection between singers and drummers is super important. It's the pocket. It's time. If you're playing and the time is really good, it widens the pocket. And if it widens the pocket, it makes singing the song effortless. It makes pitch easier to find. It makes everything easier because the rhythm is so solid. It carries you with it. Drummers and singers really feed off each other a lot in the best bands. So I've always connected with the drummer.

Interesting news about sugar production in Cuba that may impact cuban rum production.

Wow... Cuba's rum industry is in some very perilous times. Their GI requires the use of local sugarcane, and sugarcane production this year is just 2.5% of what it was in 1989. Yes, 2.5%, not 25%. It will be interesting to see if their GI is amended.
