Looking back at these photos makes me forget all the pain and only remember the glory, and I cannot wait to do this again one day 🥾⛰️

Swipe through for a little blurb on each photo 👉🏼

The gang! This was in the West Maroon Trailhead parking lot before it all began :)

Views as we head up Trail Rider Pass on Day 3 ⛰️

More views from Day 3. Feeling awful haha.

My favorite camp spot from night 2 in the Snowmass Lake Zone.

Da girlies! This was at the top of West Maroon Pass on Day 1.

Views on Day 3 after splitting as a group and heading to Geneva Lake Zone for the night.

Snowmass Lake!

Views on top of Trail Rider Pass, looking down into the North Fork Zone.

Water filter and full up time :) Views of the back of the Bells on the way up Buckskin Pass!

A shot of Bumi looking out at me waiting for me to catch up 🥹 View is from going up Trail Rider Pass and looking back toward Snowmass Lake side.

The back of the Bells shot on the trail leading to Geneva Lake.

Alex!!

Just filling up water on our way to hitchhike to Marble then back to Crested Butte!

Quite possibly the best photo ever 🫶🏼

It’s Marmot o’ clock!!

A small body of water in the North Fork Zone, one of my favorites.

Snowmass ⛰️

Taking a break before hitchhiking 👍🏼 Look at Bumi!!

Perks of hitchhiking?? Getting to see the Crystal Mill on the way down! :)

Everything you need to know 👇🏼🏔️

First📌 save this post to refer back to when you’re planning, and follow Ilaria Reed for all the best Colorado hikes & outdoor adventures 🤘🏼

🔍 Finding this hike in AllTrails search “Mount Sherman Trail via Four Mile Creek Road”

📍 This 14er is located near Fairplay, CO, with trail access from the Fourmile Creek Trailhead. It’s considered one of the “easier” 14ers, but keep in mind, a 14er is still a 14er!

Things to note:

⛺️ Camping: If you want to acclimatize the night before, check out Horseshoe Campground just a short drive from the trailhead. It’s a beautiful spot tucked along the creek, with reservable and first-come-first-serve sites. Staying here gives you a head start for an early summit attempt!

🚗 Parking at the Fourmile Creek Trailhead can be limited, especially on weekends. Arrive early. The road in is a bit rough but generally passable for most vehicles in good conditions.

🪨 The road up to the trail head is kinda gnarly, not gonna lie. You don’t need 4WD, but it’s definitely super bumpy for a solid 30 minutes 😅

🥾 The hike itself is rocky and can be windy, with some loose scree near the top. Trekking poles can help, especially on the descent. Go slow and steady, the altitude makes it tougher than it looks!

🐕 Dogs allowed. PLEASE pick up after them 💩

☀️ Even though the route is relatively short, remember you’re climbing above 14,000 ft. Bring sun protection, snacks, electrolytes, and lots of water. Altitude headaches are real, know your limits and turn around if you’re not feeling well.

⛈️ Start EARLY. Afternoon storms are common and extremely dangerous at this elevation. Plan to be off the summit by early afternoon.

Have questions that I didn’t answer in the video or caption? Drop them in the comments and I’ll help you out 🤗

As always, remember to leave no trace! Stay on trail, don’t pick wildflowers, pack out what you pack in, and give the mountain the respect it deserves 🙌🏼

Sunflower picking in Colorado with the girlssss 🌻

Did you know that every August, Anderson Farms opens up for sunflower & wildflower picking every Friday-Sunday during the month?! I didn’t either until just a few days ago!!

It’s $12 to get in and then if you want to take flowers home, it’s additional $$ for a bucket (3 different sizes, the white is the medium). And let me tell you, paying for the additional bucket so you can actually take flowers home instead of just looking at them is SO WORTH IT. This was such a fun activity that I’ll look forward to every August!!

You do need to purchase a timed entry on their website, and I recommend either the earliest option or the latest option to avoid the heat of midday. We got there at 8am and by 10am it was disgustingly hot already 🥵

Definitely add this activity to your Colorado summer bucket list! Bring your girls & have a little photoshoot ☺️🌸🌻
