Jamara Wakefield’s docuseries on the history of House music in Newark continues with episodes 3 & 4, which explore the DJs who built the sound and how the scene became a safe space for our LQBTQ+ brothers and sisters.

In the evening, we’re hosting the popular Backroom Live Comedy Series featuring headliner Peter Liu (Amazon Prime, New York Comedy Festival)

Later that night, resident DJ G Silva is back with another edition of Wax Sessions, an all-vinyl set that allows members of the audience to dig in the crates and hand-pick the next song.

ITW TV founder Jamara Wakefield sat down with independent soul icon Eric Roberson to discuss his residency at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center and his headlining performances at the 16th Annual Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival.

From his roots in New Jersey house music to 30 years of independent creative freedom, Roberson reflects on process, community, and bringing an entirely improvised set to Pittsburgh this September alongside fellow B.U.I.L.D. resident artist Kid Capri.
