A Picture Is Worth More Than a Thousand Words—But Will It Spur Action? Where’s the Accountability?

This image speaks volumes. A woman and a child, riding an electric scooter on Fayette Street near the Route 440 connector—no helmets, no protective gear, and no real safeguards in place. It’s not just a personal risk; it’s a glaring example of a systemic failure.

How many more scenes like this will we witness before city officials take action? The police department and city hall have a responsibility to enforce safety regulations, improve infrastructure, and prevent what feels like an inevitable tragedy.

We don’t need more warnings—we need solutions. Designated lanes, helmet laws, and public safety campaigns aren’t luxuries; they’re necessities. If those in charge continue to ignore these dangers, they won’t just be bystanders to an accident waiting to happen—they’ll be complicit.

This picture should serve as a wake-up call. The question is: will anyone listen?

Wow, people are living so long now!

Ah yes, Perth Caba strikes again! Because out of ALL the developers in the world, the only one capable of building on prime waterfront real estate, land that’s been sitting abandoned for decades thanks to their own broken promises is, of course, Trump’s fam and Benny Netanyahu’s boy, Kushner!

And what a deal it is! A 35-year tax-free agreement—because why should a penny pinching billionaire-backed developer contribute to the city when hardworking residents and small businesses are expected to pay their fair share?

But don’t worry, this time they totally mean it. This time they’ll follow through, right? Because history has shown that when you give the wealthiest and most politically connected developers free rein, it always works out in favor of the people, right?

Meanwhile, if we follow the money trail, it conveniently leads to the same power players who always seem to benefit—political donors, backroom deals, and a cycle of favors that leaves Perth Amboy holding the bill.

But hey, financial literacy is overrated. Why invest in schools, infrastructure, or actual community development when we can subsidize more tax free development in an already densely populated city, instead?

Perth Amboy City Council has approved plans for Kushner Companies to build 602 new waterfront apartments, while also receiving a long term tax break.
