Those lines and patterns!

Sometimes I edit images months earlier and put them in a “to share” folder for later. This one I did a long time ago! Now I don’t remember the location “was it San Antonio or Helsinki?”

The good news is it’s a quick check for the answer. I can right click on the image file - then under properties a host of information is available including the date created. It’s important to set date/ time on your camera for this to work.

For phone shot images the answer is right there! Super easy.

Well, if I can’t remember where I was….. on a certain date, sheesh. I guess my memory isn’t so great! My next step would be to locate the batch of files on my desktop, organized by date and month and also numbered. So many clues! 🕵️

I’ll let you know what I learn later…

Took a little time out break and did a daycation in Scottsdale. This is the 3rd resort we have checked out. We arrived early (that heat is no joke!) and snagged a couple of loungers by the pool. It wasn’t too busy (yay!) and the dj was spinning some good music. Enjoyed some refreshing beverages and then grabbed lunch nearby. Highly recommend!

Where should I fly to next? I’m staying put this holiday weekend, but I’m wishing all travelers, during this busy season...

The Big Island, officially named Hawaii, is more than just a couple of volcanoes and snorkeling sites (although I love it for those two reasons). This island is less populated so you can find a little slide of heaven, or a tree, to yourself.

This one is called a Banyan tree, native to the Indian subcontinent. It’s famous for those crazy roots that grow from its branches, making it the largest tree in the world by canopy coverage.

Eilean Donan Castle, dating back to the 13th century, is recognised all around the world. Situated on an island at the point where three great Scotland sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some majestic scenery, it is little wonder that the castle is now one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish highlands.

We visited on a misty day (probably quite common) with the surrounding hills super green and offering a great contrast to this old castle.

Oh travel, you are always full of surprises.

I had a few minutes to kill while connecting thru Denver International Airport last night (lovely airport, lots of amenities). My recent car rental was smooth. I rented thru expedia choosing Thrifty Car Rental. Great deal, happy with that.

I was looking over each line of my rental record (as one should do) and noticed there was a service fee of $14. Not a big deal but I was curious what it was for. So I called them.

“This is a fee for air conditioning”

Whoa! Seriously? That’s a new one.

Stay cool people, but it’ll cost you.

Cullen Gardens in Whitby.

This land used to be a great attraction for the area, including the gardens, a couple of restaurants and the famous miniature village.

Like everything it seems, things change and the area closed in 2006. The land remains (mostly) as a municipal park, and as you’re walking thru the forest, old remnants of the mini golf course and paths can be seen.

If you’re missing the miniature buildings, they were purchased by the Niagara Parks Commission in 2012. Many of the buildings are now on display at the NPC's Botanical Gardens in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

On October 6, 2022, Thermëa spa, the neighbour to the south, opened on the site. I quite enjoyed my soak time there in the winter.

Toronto the great! The skyline changes constantly but the vibe is the same. Great restaurants with worldly food, bars, entertainment, clean! and a tolerant attitude towards all people. Come for a visit, you’ll probably love it!
