These tall and interesting trees act as a natural frame to the Chiesa dei Santi Luca e Martina Martiri, in the Roman Forum.

Thanks to Google Maps I was able to figure out what this was! I had a general idea where I was and what direction I was looking in when I captured this image in 2019. I searched “domed cathedrals” and after viewing a lot of similar structures, figured out this was the one! I loooove looking at maps (instead of just mindlessly scrolling on my phone) and learning the history of the places I visit.

Because today we need a burst of colour in a black and white world.

Fall colours always bring a smile and sense of calm. And I love the smell of these beautiful maples, plus this one really had a variety of hues.

Denver is a cool city surrounded by mountains, beautiful scenery and the quirky and fun, Meow Wolf. I’m not sure it’s my favorite (hey, they can’t all be #1), but I do enjoy wandering thru new spaces and trying to figure out what the story is (no clue, I’m terrible at those things).

Creepy and interesting.

Eastern State Penitentiary is a historic site and museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world. It was operational from 1829 to 1971 and pioneered the system of separate incarceration for reform. Now a National Historic Landmark featuring crumbling cellblocks, exhibits, and art installations that explore the history of criminal justice, with famous former inmates including Al Capone.

Laguna Beach offers dramatic coastline with cliffs, hidden beaches, protected reserves and more rugged beauty than many other SoCal spots, making it a year-round destination.

When I miss the water, I head west for a quick top up.

Grand views in Utah!

Millions of years of geologic activity created the spectacular views from this location, Dead Horse Point State Park. Deposition of sediments by ancient oceans, freshwater lakes, streams, and wind-blown sand dunes created the rock layers of canyon country. Igneous activity formed the high mountains that rise like cool blue islands out of the hot, dry Utah desert.

Beautiful and picturesque Hallstatt in Austria. Such a sweet little spot in the Austrian Alps. When I looked at our tour I didn’t even make the connection that it was *this* town we were visiting. Bonus!!
