In Ark Angelsâ Exodus, G. John Hadden uses theological sci-fi to examine humanity's response to all of creation, human, non human and angelic. He guides the reader into new realms and alternate possibilities, weaving together the wonders of creation with
the complexities of spiritual meaning and human experience.
Haddenâs writing style is approachable and engaging, making Ark Angels â Exodus an easy read with a fast-paced narrative that moves confidently from scene to scene. The story pulls the reader in early and maintains momentum throughout, particularly through
its vivid settings. From the volcanic landscapes of Hawaii to the enclosed intensity of life aboard a submarine, the attention to detail creates what feels like a visual buffetâallowing readers to clearly envision a world where love is supreme and fear is
not innate, but learned, and therefore capable of being unlearned.
That said, some character nuances feel slimmer and slightly vague compared to others that are meticulously explored. At times, this imbalance may prompt moments of âwhat happened to that character?â or âwho is this character again?â However, the richness of the world-building and the emotional clarity of the central themes ultimately compensate for these gaps. The reader is carried forward by the larger message and the immersive environments Hadden so skillfully constructs.
One of the novelâs most compelling aspects is its exploration of both the connection and disconnection between scientific knowledge and theological understanding. Rather than
