Oscar-winning Director Ang Lee is scouting and preparing to make his next movie, a California Gold Rush epic titled “Gold Mountain”, in El Dorado and Sacramento counties. Based on the novel “How Much of These Hills is Gold”, the production is scheduled for 2026, aiming to utilize authentic Sierra foothill landscapes for the 50-day shoot. The recent annual increase in California’s Film & Tax Credit Program helped bring this movie back to California.
