Colonel Tom Parker contacted Dolly and said Elvis wanted to perform the song. She would have to give up 50% of the publishing rights for him to sing it. She felt the song was too special to give it up.

BREAKING NEWS: The Queen of Country Music has passed away at the age of 80. Dolly Parton's legacy has impacted generations of radio listeners not only with her music but also her many philanthropic ventures. Our local non-profit, Randolph Partnership for Children, has benefited from Dolly's Imagination Library and Asheboro's hometown author, Holly George-Warren, recently collaborated on a book about Dolly, "Behind the Seams, My Life In Rhinestones". Truly unique and inspirational!
