TOP DOG! 🌭 Famed competitive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut reclaimed his title Friday at the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July hot-dog eating contest after skipping last year’s gastronomic battle in New York for the coveted Mustard Belt.

Chestnut consumed 70.5 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, falling short of his record of 76 wieners and buns set on July 4, 2021, but it was more than enough to claim his 17th Mustard Belt. https://bit.ly/4nzaOnM

🌪️ Tornado Confirmed in Amity Township 🌪️ The National Weather Service has confirmed that a weak tornado touched down in Berks County Tuesday afternoon.

According to a preliminary storm survey, an EF-0 tornado with peak winds of 70 mph occurred in Amity Township around 4:47 p.m. on July 1.

In addition to the tornado, straight-line winds associated with a rear-flank downdraft also reached 70 mph as the storm moved northeast toward Boyertown and the north side of Gilbertsville in Montgomery County.

The National Weather Service says more detailed information will be released later this evening or Thursday.
