Update on our sweet boy Quasimoto ❤️
Friday we got X-rays done, and our vet confirmed what we suspected: Quasi has one of the most extreme cases of scoliosis she has ever seen in a dog. So many vertebrae are involved that surgery is not an option — his spine simply doesn’t give the surgeons anything stable to work with.
What caused this?
We believe this degree of deformity is the result of poor, irresponsible breeding, not an injury. Dogs like Quasimoto are born this way.
On top of that both ears are infected and he has skin infections from fleas.
💛 The good news:
Even with such a twisted spine, our vet does not believe Quasi is in pain. He walks comfortably and he smiles constantly. He does get tired more quickly than other dogs, but he is happy, gentle, and so incredibly sweet.
💛 The even better news:
Quasimoto has no idea he’s “different.” He just knows he was rescued and that people are finally being kind to him. And he is soaking up every single bit of love.
We’ll continue evaluating what support he’ll need long-term. For now, he’s safe.
He’s loved.
And he’s finally getting the care he deserved from the start.
