Girl names that nobody will clutch their pearls over, but they're *statistically* rare for babies in the United States!

My usual spiel: just because any given name is technically rare in the nationwide data, doesn't mean there won't be odd pockets of the country where any of these names might be disproportionately popular.... Every now and then I feature an uncommon name and someone will be shocked because they might know several kids with that name. I always love to hear if that's the case, so if any of these are popular in your area, let me know!

These vintage baby boy names are all statistically getting more popular in the United States! They boomed in the past, but a lot of them fell out of the baby name rotation years or decades ago. Just because they're on this list doesn't mean that they're currently popular - but they are all trending upwards!

None of these boy names were used even 100 times last year in the United States... you might be surprised by some of these, others might have you saying, "well, obviously...."

I pulled a mix of forgotten classics more or less lost to time, international sweethearts that haven't taken off here in the US, up-and-coming last names as first names, and a few that just caught my eye.

Before anybody tries to tussle: these are rare *baby* names in the United States, a lot of these are verrrrrrry common adult names. Some may be popular for babies outside of the US, bt I'm looking at the nationwide baby name statistics for here.

Some of these might also have some hyper-local trendiness. If any of these happen to be popular in your corner of the world, I'd love to know which one!

“Charming” is one of those baby name categories that is hard to define, it means different things to different people, but this is my version.

These girl names feel warm, sweet and full of personality without being overly frilly. I can picture them on storybook characters, cutie toddlers and cool women alike.

These 30 boy names were pulled from the fastest-rising names in the latest US baby name data. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re all about to become wildly popular, but parents are using them noticeably more than they were just one year earlier.

Some of these moves completely make sense to me. A few surprised me!
