I am thrilled to say that thanks to the generosity of many friends and supporters (and amazing P1's!) Fight for What's Right is able to donate; a brand new laptop, 50 DVDS, numerous bits of sporting equipment, and about 9,000 dollars in cash to City of Joy and other needy parties in Zambia! I am truly blessed to have such great people in my life. Now off to Africa!!!

I feel like a puppet master! My plan is coming together (Hans). The Heat and Spurs are going to face off in the finals and Pops is going to make LBJ look silly! Ohhhhh the NBA playoffs are grand. Sorry I'm posting at 4:00 am, habbits!

OK! Now I'm a little pi**ed off! Why are you all so quick to disregard the thought of a championship? Sure it's tough, sure it's rare, but it's possible! Utah has had 2 teams in the last 8 years that were close. BYU has one to rest it's head on and had a few teams that were close to achieving perfection (check 06' season, 2 wins away from perfection, check 07' season, 2 wins away. A little more focus and luck and they're there).

I know things are different now, but if Utah went undefeated in the Pac12 they're in, if BYU goes undefeated in 2013 they're in! Anyone want to debate this? I'll shove their schedules down your throat!

They can both get there, with smart scheduling and proper positioning! Stop with the THEY CAN'T GET THERE! Tell that to Bronco, tell that to Whitt, they'll say it's tough as all hell, but far from impossible.

To get there you have to play a smart schedule, you have to stay injury free, or relatively injury free, you have to have great team leaders, season long focus, a little bit of luck and a whole lot of hard work! It's possible so stop writing it off!

I was on the sideline for the 1996 BYU Cotton Bowl season, 1 win away from a shot at the national championship! Sure things were different then, but we could have done it with a simple bounce or two our way in that Washington game!

Go ahead and say it won't happen, doubt Bronco and Whitt all you want, but these coaches have shown they're capable of perfection and near perfection, who's to say it couldn't come around again. I for one say it's very possible, and I applaud them both for scheduling to achieve the highest glory! It tells me they believe it as well.

Hi everybody! Big ups to my boy Hans for making sure this discussion continues between us and our P1's, radio waves be darned. Some great points are being thrown around regarding "what is best for the program" for both sides. You've gotta respect coaches and AD's trying to ensure long term success for their respective schools. I understand the logic. But frankly I am sick of the logic. College sports are about passion, and tradition and memories and stories. My sports fan heart sees this as another step toward the big-business-professionalization (did I just make up a word?) of our beloved college game.
Hans brings up great points about how taxing the game was those four years he played it. Well, my sorry non-relevant walk-on arse was working until 2am during rivalry week and waking up at 5:30 to go lift with Coach Balis screaming down my neck so I COULD feel the pressure and be emotionally drained after this game. I refuse to fret over the toll a football game takes on strapping young men and heavily compensated coaches when the thousands of people screaming in the stands and at their tv's probably have much tougher things to deal with on a daily basis. Let's not forget that a truly national championship-caliber team will be able to overcome those challenges.
This game, is THE big event in Utah sports every year. Aside from maybe the Jazz making an NBA Finals run, nothing touches it. It's the sport fans' holiday. Families gather and celebrate (or mourn depending on the year) offices waste man-hours pranking and gloating and talking trash. Hell, it gives the media 3 weeks of material. We are about to lose a treasure, and it is being sacrificed for the specter of a National Championship that feels all the more unlikely for two universities that can't even recognize a huge part of what already makes them great.
5 years from now, NEITHER of these teams will have a National Championship, we will have no Holy War, and I will still be sick about it.

The BYU-Utah rivalry — a rivalry that has been played since 1896 (or 1922 if you're a BYU fan) - is inching closer toward the sidelines. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said in an interview with Yahoo! Sports this week that … Continue reading →

I miss you all every day. OC is doing good, he has some irons in the fire. I can't wait to drop kick all of you in the ears again. Here's the new banner for my show http://www.facebook.com/ESPN700. Bill and I are looking at a June 4th start. Don't worry about OC, he's the best talent in this state right now without an on air job, plus he's a great man with a great work ethic, good things await my boy.
