Another great IBC Show has closed. This year our team received a huge flood of visitors; it was a busy time for everyone! Thank you all for stopping by the booth to visit us and our friends at Kokusai Denki.

One of the biggest things we noticed: less talk about slick all-IP setups, more talk about practical and cost-effective solutions for hybrid SDI/IP workflows. Engineers aren't interested in glossy slide decks, they want real-time solutions to their signal management headaches.

Read our takeaways from the show here:

If you spent any time in the halls of the RAI this year, you noticed a clear shift in conversation. … Continued

At IBC 2026, we’re demonstrating practical, open solutions for broadcasters working on the SDI/IP transition. We’ve put together a preview of what Utah Scientific is bringing to booth 10.B40 this year, from high-efficiency gateways to true NMOS open control:

On-Ramp: Direct SDI-to-IP encapsulation with lower power draw.

Gateway Router: Enterprise 12G-SDI capacity paired with high-density IP PassThrough.

NBOSS: Native NMOS control that works with your existing hardware panels and third-party setups.

Check out our latest blog for a full look at what we’re showcasing in Amsterdam: https://utahscientific.com/open-sustainable-predictable-what-utah-scientific-is-bringing-to-ibc-2026/

Would you offer a 10-year warranty on your hardware? We do.

Most enterprise hardware warranties last 1 to 3 years before turning into costly annual maintenance contracts. We offer a no-fee, 10-year hardware warranty on every Utah Scientific router. Not a gimmick, but the direct result of building robust, low-power, high-reliability gear that simply works.

Pair that decade of hardware peace of mind with continuous software updates and broad interoperability across major third-party vendors, and you get infrastructure built for the long haul. That's how we protect your capital investment for a full decade.

It's just one of the ways Utah Scientific ensures your team can keep climbing.

Planning an infrastructure refresh? Drop us a DM or visit us at IBC 2026 to see the hardware in action.

When supply chains stall or a critical part goes on backorder for six months, the idea of "outsourced efficiency" loses its charm quickly.

We assemble our components in the USA, retaining full in-house control over development, manufacturing, and quality procedures.

What does that mean for engineering teams on the ground?
- Direct access to genuine spare parts without multi-month overseas delays.
- Support engineers who actually know the hardware inside and out.
- Fast, local assistance from pre-sales architecture through installation and long-term maintenance.

When a system is mission-critical, knowing exactly who built it and where to reach them makes all the difference.

What does "24/7/365 reliability" actually mean in practice?

It means when a main controller, power supply, or crosspoint experiences an issue, no one in the control room panics.

The core router is the central nervous system of any broadcast plant. If it stutters, the whole station goes quiet. That's why we build our 400 Series routing architecture around two key tenets:

Full Redundancy: Every critical path has a backup ready to take over without signal disruption.
Modular Scalability: A fully modular frame design that lets you start with what you need today and scale up card-by-card as your signal density expands.

Invest in a frame that grows with you, not one your team will outgrow in three years. Then sit back and relax, knowing you saved money, time, and stress for everyone.

When evaluating core equipment, it’s easy to focus solely on CAPEX. But what about the thermal load sitting in your machine room 24/7/365?

At Utah Scientific, we design our hardware with two strict efficiency priorities: Low power consumption and low heat generation.

Why?

Low power consumption: Reducing energy usage per frame to hit environmental efficiency targets and trim power costs.
Low heat generation: Minimizing thermal output so your room cooling (HVAC) systems don't have to work overtime.

When your core infrastructure runs cool, your components last longer and your ongoing facility OPEX drops significantly. (We did the math: https://utahscientific.com/the-invisible-opex-killer-energy-costs/)

How much attention does your team give to thermal load when planning new racks?

In the broadcast world, we talk a lot about “uptime.” We talk about talent retention, latency reduction, and seamless signal … Continued

Since 1977, Utah Scientific has operated as a privately owned, independent manufacturer. That nearly 50-year track record has taught us one big lesson: technology shifts work best when they respect existing investments.

That’s why our approach to IP migration focuses on intelligent SDI/IP hybrid bridging. You can move to ST 2110 at a pace that matches your budget and operational ability. Meanwhile, maintain total signal integrity without sacrificing current SDI stability.

You don't need to rebuild your whole facility overnight to start benefiting from IP workflows.
