Nineteen years into her career, Tiffany Young is calling something a debut for the first time.

Edge of Calm, out now, is her first full-length solo studio album – arriving nearly two decades since her legendary debut as part of the influential K-pop group Girls’ Generation. She’s recently joined Pacific Music Group Korea as the label’s first artist, and an eight-city Asia tour follows this autumn, closing with a homecoming show in Seoul.

But Young isn’t framing this as a reinvention. “It doesn’t feel like starting over,” she tells tmrw. “It feels like arriving at something I’ve been building toward for a long time.”

Marwan’s music, if anything, reflects duality. Strength and struggle, like a slap and a hug at the same time. It exposes a harsh reality, yet builds strength to go against the grain. It explores the depth of Marwan’s inner world through a carefully vulnerable language, touching on themes of his own inner turmoil.

“I just want to capture a human experience; my human experience. And if it helps, I hope it does. I’m not one of those guys that’s like, ‘Yeah, I want my music to change the world and help everybody,’ I just hope they enjoy life and find some type of comfort in the fact that like doesn’t matter how high up somebody seems, everybody’s trying to figure s*** out.”
