Gotham is getting a new look. And it is cold.

The Batman: Part II has been filming in Liverpool and at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England since May 20, with principal photography officially confirmed by director Matt Reeves on June 12 — when he posted the film's very first shot to social media. The image showed Scene 26's clapperboard, with a body lying on a slab in the background. No identity confirmed. Fans immediately got to work theorizing.

The production's working title is Semper Vigilans — widely interpreted as a reference to the Court of Owls, the secretive Gotham crime syndicate that has never appeared in live-action. Whether they are the film's primary antagonists remains unconfirmed.

What the set leaks have already revealed is striking. The film is set in winter — GCPD vehicles were spotted with snow on the windshields and bumpers. Reeves released Batmobile camera tests showing the car driving through snow. And early set photos suggest Batman's iconic black suit may be shifting to a blue-grey palette, which would make sense for camouflage in a snowy environment.

There is also a fascinating casting wrinkle that emerged on June 12. The InSneider reported that Sebastian Stan may actually be playing Victor Zsasz — a prolific serial killer — rather than Harvey Dent as previously announced. If true, it reshapes the film's entire villain structure. Neither Warner Bros. nor Reeves has confirmed or denied the claim.

Colin Farrell films his Penguin scenes in July. Andy Serkis starts in late 2026.

October 1, 2027. The wait has officially begun.

What are you most excited to see in The Batman Part II? And do you think the Court of Owls will finally make their live-action debut?

It is almost impossible to imagine. But it very nearly happened.

Before Robert Downey Jr. became Tony Stark, Tom Cruise was Marvel's top target for Iron Man — confirmed in the book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios by Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzales, and Gavin Edwards. According to Kevin Feige, Cruise's asking fee "was more than even a profitable studio like Fox was willing to risk on an untested superhero property." The numbers simply didn't add up.

But money wasn't the only issue. Cruise himself has said the creative fit wasn't there either. "They came to me at a certain point and, when I do something, I wanna do it right," he told IGN. "As it was lining up, it just didn't feel to me like it was gonna work. I need to be able to make decisions and make the film as great as it can be, and it just didn't go down that road that way."

So Marvel moved on — through Jim Caviezel, Timothy Olyphant, and Sam Rockwell — before Jon Favreau watched a screen test from a then-struggling Robert Downey Jr. and immediately knew he had found his man. Downey's troubled past, which made Marvel executives reluctant, was exactly what Favreau believed made him perfect for Tony Stark.

The gamble made history. The MCU has now grossed over $30 billion worldwide.

Cruise has since said: "I love Robert Downey Jr. I can't imagine anyone else playing this role."

Neither can we.

Could you ever have imagined Tom Cruise as Iron Man? And do you think the MCU would have been as successful with a different Tony Stark?

Nothing is confirmed. But the rumor is everywhere — and it makes a lot of sense.

Multiple industry insiders have claimed that Avengers: Secret Wars, currently scheduled for December 17, 2027, could center on Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man as its lead heroes — two characters whose pre-MCU legacies helped define a generation of superhero cinema.

The reports originate from scoopers MyTimeToShineHello and MAJESTIC_ucm, who have both claimed that Marvel is "going all in" on making them the main protagonists of Secret Wars, with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool also expected to play a significant role. WDW Pro corroborated the Spider-Man and Wolverine team-up claim independently.

One counter-report from insider Alex Perez at The Cosmic Circus suggests the only fully secured legacy characters for Secret Wars are Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men — with Jackman's Wolverine not yet locked in.

To be clear: Marvel has officially confirmed nothing about Secret Wars' cast or plot. Neither Jackman nor Maguire has publicly confirmed involvement. These are scooper claims — educated and plausible, but unverified.

What makes the rumor compelling is the narrative logic. If Avengers: Doomsday shatters the multiverse, a film about rebuilding it could naturally center on survivors from across different universes — and few characters carry more nostalgic weight than these two.

Avengers: Doomsday opens December 18, 2026. Secret Wars follows one year later.

Would you want Wolverine and Tobey's Spider-Man leading Secret Wars? Or should the MCU's own characters take center stage?

Selina Kyle left Gotham at the end of The Batman. It turns out she is not coming back.

Zoe Kravitz will not return as Catwoman in The Batman: Part II, confirmed when director Matt Reeves revealed his full cast in May 2026 without including her. The first film ended with Selina and Bruce going their separate ways — and Reeves is treating that as a permanent narrative choice, not a scheduling gap.

Stepping into the film's central female role is Scarlett Johansson, confirmed by Reeves to be playing Gilda Dent — the wife of Harvey Dent, DC's future Two-Face. Sebastian Stan plays Harvey, with Charles Dance as his father Christopher Dent. In the celebrated Batman comic The Long Halloween — widely understood as Reeves' primary influence — Gilda becomes the serial killer Holiday, murdering Gotham crime figures on calendar holidays. Whether Johansson follows that arc is unconfirmed.

The full confirmed returning cast includes Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Jayme Lawson, and Barry Keoghan as the Joker. Brian Tyree Henry has also joined in an undisclosed role.

Principal photography began June 12 in England. The Batman: Part II hits theaters October 1, 2027.

Are you okay with Catwoman being left out? And are you excited for Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent?

He has heard the rumors. He would like a word.

Patrick Stewart, 85, has officially shut down speculation that Avengers: Doomsday will be his final acting role. In a new TV Insider interview, Stewart addressed the retirement talk directly: "I can't imagine ever officially retiring. I'll always and forever be an actor."

The rumors trace back to November 2025, when podcast host Kristian Harloff claimed on his show that Stewart was "done with acting" after Doomsday wrapped. The story spread across the internet — never confirmed by Stewart or his representatives — but gained enough momentum this week to require an actual response.

Here is what makes it even better: this is not the first time Stewart has been declared done with Professor X. After Logan in 2017, he told Entertainment Weekly the role was finished for good. Then he came back for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in 2022. Now he is returning again in Doomsday, marking 25 years since he first played Charles Xavier in X-Men (2000).

Stewart also confirmed he is far from idle. He is currently doing Shakespeare, voicing a pig's head in Riz Ahmed's new series Bait, and recently voiced Sir Ritchfield in The Sheep Detectives. "I still continue to receive interesting offers," he said, "and I love being challenged by new work."

Avengers: Doomsday opens December 18, 2026 — with Stewart alongside Ian McKellen, Robert Downey Jr., and an enormous ensemble reuniting the X-Men and Avengers for the first time.

Are you excited to see Professor X return one more time? And do you think this really will be Stewart's final Marvel appearance?

The checkered flag was just the beginning.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity that the team behind F1 is moving forward with a sequel. "We're going to come back and hopefully make another F1," Bruckheimer told the audience. Apple Senior VP Eddy Cue added: "We're going to do it again. Everyone wants to see another one. It was Brad Pitt's biggest movie of all time."

Bruckheimer revealed the team is "just about to start on a script shortly" and is currently in negotiations with writers. No official greenlight, no confirmed cast yet — but the intent from both Apple and Bruckheimer is clear.

The original F1 earned it. The film grossed $634 million worldwide, making it Brad Pitt's highest-grossing film of his entire career and Apple Original Films' most successful theatrical release. It also received four Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, and won Best Sound — a rare technical achievement for a sports film.

Brad Pitt is expected to reprise his role as retired driver Sonny Hayes, with Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and Kerry Condon all likely to return. Director Joseph Kosinski and Lewis Hamilton, who produced the original, are also in discussions to come back.

Don't expect it soon. The first film took nearly three years from development to release. But the engines are warming up.

Did you see F1? And are you excited for a sequel?

Six weeks ago she was best known for Superman and Lois. Now she is meeting Michael Mann and Marvel.

In a new interview with Nylon, Obsession breakout star Inde Navarrette revealed she has recently taken meetings with two of Hollywood's most high-profile directors. The first: Michael Mann, who is currently casting Heat 2 — his long-awaited sequel to the 1995 crime classic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Adam Driver, and Stephen Graham. The second: Jake Schreier, director of Thunderbolts and now confirmed to direct Marvel's upcoming X-Men reboot.

Neither role has been confirmed. Neither project has announced her. But the fact that she is in these rooms at all — eight weeks into being a household name — says everything about the speed of her rise.

For Heat 2, the role most analysts believe she could be considered for is Gabriela, the daughter of Elisa, Neil McCauley's girlfriend in 1988 — one of three major female parts still being cast. The X-Men meeting is even more open-ended, with fans already speculating she could play Rogue, Kitty Pryde, or Hope Summers.

Navarrette told Nylon she is not taking any of this for granted. "I don't care how much I'm not sleeping, because I don't know if I'll get this opportunity again. I really want to prove that Obsession wasn't just lightning in a bottle."

Her next confirmed project is already shooting in September — again with a first-time director.

Which franchise would you rather see Inde in — Heat 2 or X-Men?

Lady may have died in Westeros. But in real life, she found a forever home.

When Sophie Turner found out that Zunni — the Northern Inuit dog who played Sansa Stark's beloved direwolf Lady — was going to need a new home after her death scene was filmed, the decision was immediate.

"Growing up I always wanted a dog, but my parents never wanted one," Turner told the Coventry Telegraph. "We kind of fell in love with my character's direwolf, Lady, on set. We knew Lady died and they wanted to rehome her. My mum persuaded them to let us adopt her."

Turner was just 17 at the time, still living with her parents, and it was actually her mother Sally who made the final call — going directly to the production team and convincing them to let the family take Zunni home. Even George R.R. Martin himself wrote about the adoption on his personal blog.

Lady's on-screen death in Season 1 remains one of the most upsetting moments in the entire series. Ned Stark killed her himself — insisting she deserved a merciful death rather than being handed to a butcher — while Sansa watched, unable to stop it.

But Zunni? She went home to Leamington Spa, England, with the Turner family. Walks, cuddles, and no butchers in sight.

Did you ever get over Lady's death in Game of Thrones? And did you know Zunni had such a happy ending?

Spider-Man is growing up. And Tom Holland knows it.

In a new BBC interview this week ahead of The Odyssey's July 17 release, Holland opened up about what playing Telemachus — the son of Odysseus — means to him at this moment in his career. "The thing that I love the most is that it feels a little bit like the last chance for me to play a boy," he said. "It feels like the start of a new chapter of my life."

Holland turns 30 this year. The role marks his first collaboration with Christopher Nolan, a director he described as someone he had "yearned" to work with — only to find that "when you get the opportunity, that comes with a lot of pressure."

Telemachus is a boy who grows up without his father, waiting for Odysseus to return from the Trojan War while protecting his mother Penelope — played by Anne Hathaway — from suitors who have taken over their palace. For Holland, the parallel to his own transition out of youthful roles was clearly not lost.

There is also a remarkable personal dimension: Nolan came up with the idea to cast Zendaya as the goddess Athena. Holland went home and told her to re-read the script, but specifically to "read Athena really closely." He described watching her reaction as "amazing."

The Odyssey opens in theaters July 17. Christopher Nolan. Matt Damon. Anne Hathaway. Charlize Theron. Lupita Nyong'o. Robert Pattinson. Zendaya. And Tom Holland, saying goodbye to boyhood.

Are you excited for The Odyssey? And do you think this could be Tom Holland's best performance yet?

It is officially over. And fans are furious.

The 2026 Emmy nominations were announced yesterday — and for the fifth consecutive year, Antony Starr was not nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Homelander in The Boys. Season 5 was the final season. There will never be another chance.

Starr spent seven years building one of the most complex, terrifying, and compelling villains in the history of television. A character who was manipulative and monstrous, while simultaneously being pathetic and fragile. A performance so convincing that even real-world audiences debated whether Homelander was actually the hero of his own story.

The Boys itself earned five nominations this year, including Outstanding Drama Series. The show has now been nominated 17 times in total, with four wins. But in seven years, not a single acting nomination for its lead — the reason most people watched it in the first place.

For context: Giancarlo Esposito's one-episode guest appearance remains the only acting nomination any cast member from The Boys has ever received from the Television Academy.

Starr has won at the Saturn Awards, Astra Awards, and Critics' Choice Super Awards. But the Emmy, the one that matters most to the industry, will never be his for Homelander.

The TV Academy had seven years and five seasons. They chose not to.

Do you think Antony Starr deserved an Emmy for Homelander? And is this one of the biggest awards snubs in TV history?
