State Democratic leaders are condemning what they say are racist responses to a campaign video from Utah’s newest candidate for Congress.

The candidacy of Liban Mohamed, who was born in Utah to Somali immigrant parents, has attracted broad attention on social media, including a slew of racially charged comments.

“The flood of racist and religious hate directed at Liban Mohamed is disgusting,” the Utah Democratic Party said in a statement on social media.

Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok, has been flooded with s*xual images of mainly women, many of them real people, and placing them in suggestive poses.

In several cases last week, some appeared to be images of minors, leading to the creation of images that many users are calling child po*******hy. Musk and xAI have said that they are taking action “against illegal content on X, including Child Sexual Abuse Material, by removing it, permanently suspending accounts, and working with local governments and law enforcement as necessary.”

When asked about the images on Grok, a Justice Department spokesperson told CNN the department “takes AI-generated child s*x abuse material extremely seriously and will aggressively prosecute any producer or possessor of CSAM.”

Utah health officials gathered Wednesday to discuss the current flu season, which they said is proving to be a strong season. For example, 4% of outpatient visits, they said, are for influenza-like illness.

"That's considered a high rate, but what is a little bit more alarming is that the hospitalization rate across the state is quite high, at 8.42 hospitalizations per 100,000 population," Dr. Andrew Pavia, with University of Utah Health said.

They are also concerned about Utah's current hospitalization rate for flu.
