Bill Simmons believes the Jazz could be eyeing Cameron Boozer with the No. 2 overall pick. đź‘€

Utah has been searching for a long-term offensive centerpiece, and Boozer's combination of scoring, passing, and basketball IQ could make him an ideal fit.

His ability to facilitate from the frontcourt would give the Jazz a versatile offensive hub and help unlock opportunities for the players around him.

While rim protection isn't considered Boozer's biggest strength, Utah already has Jaren Jackson Jr. to handle much of that responsibility.

Boozer could focus on providing playmaking, rebounding, and offensive versatility as the Jazz continue building toward contention. 🔥

There seems to be a consensus on who the Jazz should pick 2nd overall in the draft.

Yahoo! Sports, Bleacher Report, The Ringer, and The Athletic all name Darryn Peterson as the Jazz's pick in their respective mock drafts. (H/T NBA.com)

Their draft analysts believe Peterson is the right fit for the team.
We already have the frontcourt figured out.
All the Jazz need to fill out is who Keyonte George's long-term backcourt partner is.

While fans would prefer AJ Dybantsa, who already has roots in Utah to be picked,
Darryn Peterson could be a better option, in both fit and talent.

The Jazz have a lot on their plate this summer.

The No. 2 pick. Walker Kessler’s next contract. The future of the roster.

But there’s another decision quietly sitting in front of them.

Keyonte George.

Since arriving in Utah, George has shown flashes of exactly the kind of player teams spend years searching for. He’s only 22 years old, continues to improve, and has embraced the rebuilding process instead of running from it.

That matters.

The Jazz delayed Walker Kessler’s extension because of cap flexibility. This situation is different. Utah won’t have that same luxury next summer, which makes this offseason the logical time to get something done.

The exact number can be debated.

Whether George becomes an All-Star can be debated.

What shouldn’t be debated is how important he is to what Utah is building.

Young. Talented. Loyal.

Those are the players rebuilding teams can’t afford to lose.

Extension talks should be one of Utah’s priorities this summer.

And if the Jazz believe George is part of the future, they should make sure he knows it.

The Jazz should make sure they sign Keyonte George long-term.

On top of representing the team in the recent draft lottery,
George went to Chicago for the Draft Combine to keep a close eye on his potential teammates.

Keyonte has been all in on the team's building process.
This is an indication that he wants to be here for the long haul.

Every successful team has to have their franchise point guard.
And the Jazz have one in Keyonte George.
All they need to do is repay his efforts with giving him the bag.

The Jazz are in a win-win situation heading into the draft.

Having the #2 pick in a top-heavy draft is a good problem to have.
They can choose whoever the Wizards don't draft between AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson.

Either pick fits well with the Jazz roster.
Peterson brings the team a terrific isolation scorer,
And their roster is built to mask some of his deficiencies on defense and his potential injury history.

Dybantsa is arguably the best talent in the draft,
And he brings almost all of Peterson's qualities in a bigger body and more athleticism.

History tells us that you can get a legitimate franchise cornerstone with the #2 pick.
The Spurs did it with Dylan Harper last year.
The Jazz could be next in line.

People say the Utah Jazz have a logjam in the frontcourt.

It could be a good problem to have.

Walker Kessler is expected to return.
Jaren Jackson Jr. is an important piece to the defense.
Kyle Filipowski adds size and depth up front.
Jusuf Nurkic brings veteran savvy and smarts.

All of the pieces are interchangeable, and could pose problems for opposing teams.

Once they figure it out, it could be a dangerous group.

The Jazz are reportedly keeping the No. 2 pick.

And that's the right call.

Per Brett Siegel, Utah is not expected to trade the selection.

Why rush the process?

When you're picking this high, you're not looking for a shortcut.

You're looking for a cornerstone.

Whether it's Darryn Peterson.
Or AJ Dybantsa.

The Jazz are in position to add another potential franchise-changing talent to their young core.

The next face of Jazz basketball could be arriving very soon.
