The NBA’s second-apron era is changing the way teams build and it’s starting to have a major impact on player contracts.

According to Jake Fischer, players like Keyonte George are all unlikely to receive max rookie-scale extensions.

Why? The second apron has made teams far more cautious about handing out massive contracts.

The penalties for going over the line can limit roster flexibility, make trades harder, and restrict how teams can build around their stars.

For young players, that means proving you’re worth the max isn’t always enough anymore.

Teams also have to ask: Can we afford the consequences that come with paying it?

The second apron isn’t just changing how teams spend, it’s changing how players get paid.

Keyonte George's scoring has been really impressive for a 22-year-old, especially with how much responsibility he has already taken on for the Jazz. 🔥

He's shown that he can create his own shot, put pressure on the defense, and consistently find ways to get his points.

There is still so much room for him to grow, and if he keeps developing at this rate, George has a real chance to become a superstar in this league.

The Jazz might have something special with Keyonte George. 📈

The Jazz should let Ace Bailey dominate next season. 👀🔥

He has all the tools to become a superstar in this league, from his scoring ability and shooting to his size, athleticism, and shot-making upside.

Giving Bailey a bigger role and letting him play through his mistakes could be exactly what he needs to take a major step forward.

If Utah develops him the right way, Ace Bailey could be a huge part of their future. 📈

Marcus Smart revealed a hilarious story about how close he came to becoming a Utah Jazz player. 😂

Smart says Utah called him just ONE HOUR before the 2014 NBA Draft and asked how he would feel about being selected with the No. 5 pick.

The wild part? He had never even spoken with the Jazz before.

Smart explained that a friend who was running his Twitter account had gotten into an exchange with Utah after the Jazz claimed they had repeatedly tried to contact his camp.

Smart eventually had to call and apologize, explaining that the tweets weren’t actually from him.

Then, shortly before the draft, Utah called again about potentially taking him at No. 5.

The Jazz ultimately selected Dante Exum.

Imagine how different things could’ve looked if Utah went with Smart instead. 👀
