Meet Writer Maddie West! Maddie is a 4th year student majoring in Biology & Environmental Journalism. She is from Connecticut and deeply misses the ocean, but has found a new love in the mountains. Utah’s mountains provide ample opportunity for her to hike, camp, and find bodies of water to jump in. She is continually inspired by nature, allowing it to fuel her writing and photography. Her dream is to get people interested and engaged in environmental protection through the integration of culture and art with science. In her free time she’s tending to her newly planted garden, practicing yoga, or thrifting (compulsively).
