A New Year. A New You.
Reach for the Stars

The chance to grow, evolve, and reach new heights is always available to us. Still, the new year has a way of sharpening that hope. It becomes a marker—a moment when we pause, reflect, and imagine something better, or at least something new. Life can be repetitive, and the seasons we move through are rarely equal in ease or joy. What we often long for at the edge of a new year is the arrival of a dream that has lingered just out of reach: a child, a partner, a new career, a healed relationship, a fresh venture, or finally taking the trip we’ve been promising ourselves.

I’ve been reaching for the stars for as long as I can remember, even before I understood why. That desire—to become a better version of myself—has never faded. Personal growth matters because it shapes how we show up in the world. When we invest in ourselves, we’re better equipped to leave a meaningful mark within our own circles and beyond them.

As I write this, I’m recovering from a twelve-hour breast cancer surgery in New Orleans. I was surrounded by an exceptional medical team whose skill, care, and attention made me feel completely safe. Healing takes effort, intention, and trust—much like any worthwhile pursuit. I’m deeply grateful for the people and place that guided me through this experience and for how quickly everything came together when I needed it most.

My prognosis is excellent, and my optimism is strengthened daily by the prayers, encouragement, and love of friends and family, my faith, outstanding medical care, and especially my husband, who has been my constant champion—serving not just as my cheerleader, but also my coach, caregiver, and steady support throughout this journey.

My hope for all of you in the coming year is simple and sincere: good health. As my grandmother used to say, “Health is wealth.” She was right.

Happy New Year. May it be your best one yet.

To life and health,

The Suitest Season of All
Holiday Magic at The Plaza Hotel

New York City during the holidays is a symphony of light, sound, and celebration. With streets lined in twinkling garlands, storefronts transformed into enchanting displays, and snowflakes settling over Fifth Avenue, the city feels like a dream. At the heart of it all, The Plaza Hotel captures the essence of Christmas like no other, leaving you wrapped in nostalgia and timeless holiday magic.

For generations, The Plaza has been the heart of holiday tradition in New York. Boasting gilded interiors, a storied past, and endless charm, this hotel transforms into a true winter wonderland from mid-November to the New Year. This year, guests are invited to experience it all with signature holiday offerings that blend luxurious details with festive spirit.

The season begins with The Plaza’s “Suitest Season of All” package, where guests who book a suite are welcomed into a space that feels more like an elegant holiday residence than a hotel room. A towering seven-foot tree stands proudly in each suite, illuminated and accompanied by seasonal floral arrangements and a welcome gift. This is the kind of atmosphere that invites guests to slow down, pour a glass of champagne, and savor the beauty of the holiday.

While the hotel does a fantastic job of capturing the beauty of a winter wonderland, it would not be Christmastime at The Plaza without a nod to the hotel’s pop culture legacy, Kevin McCallister. The beloved Home Alone 2 experience is back, inviting fans to relive the magic of McCallister’s New York adventure. Guests can step into scenes from the classic film, explore the city with curated itineraries, and enjoy playful touches that pay homage to the movie that made The Plaza a holiday icon for generations to come.

En Pointe
Artist Brad Walls Is Anything But Passé

The scene in the large New York City warehouse was literally something out of a dream as visual artist Brad Walls rolled out the red carpet for over sixty ballerinas from the New York City
Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet School, and Ballet East. His dream came to life as the football field-sized set filled with dancers, directed by Walls and choreographer Ian Schwaner, who meticulously placed each one to create a series of intricate scenes. Walls photographed them from above in his signature aerial style.

Walls describes the energy on set during the photo shoot as electric. “You could feel this quiet intensity in the room,” he recalls. “There was so much trust, because everyone knew they were part of something bigger. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous—coordinating sixty dancers under a crane rig with a giant red carpet is no small feat—but once I saw that first aerial preview, everything clicked. It felt exactly as I’d imagined it in my head for years.”

The idea for this striking red-and-white ballet series, which Walls named PASSÉ, began with what he calls “a moment of unexpected vulnerability” during a ballet shoot in 2021. While he was working with ballerina Montana Rubin, a group of young triplets approached the dancer and expressed how much they loved her craft and how they had been emotionally moved by watching her. “That moment hit me,” Walls says. “It reminded me that ballet, while celebrated for its perfection, is also deeply human. This project is about honoring that—about making the distance between performer and viewer disappear.”

Paths Worth Traveling
A Winter Adventure with HunterMoss

True luxury is effortless. It’s meant to linger in the back of your mind long after the moment has passed. International tour operator HunterMoss was born from this philosophy, celebrating it with every detail.

Cofounders Julie Hunter and Anthony Moss were devoted travelers long before they were business founders, building HunterMoss around the principle that travel should inspire freedom and discovery. What was once a small collection of European driving tours has grown into a global business, offering tailor-made experiences across an impressive portfolio of continents, cuisines, and cultures. While the company’s offerings have grown to include eclectic wine and gastronomy experiences, its essence remains true to its origins.

“We take time to understand our guests on a personal level: their preferences, their passions, even the little rituals that make them feel at home,” says Julie Hunter, COO. “From there, we design each journey as a narrative, with rhythm, emotion, and discovery woven through every moment.”

The travel market has undergone numerous transformations since HunterMoss was founded in 2008. Today’s travelers crave authenticity and connection even more than opulence. HunterMoss has embraced this shift, leaning into its mission to create personalized experiences for each guest. “Our guests don’t just want to visit a destination; they want to feel a part of it,” Julie explains. “They want to meet the winemaker, dine in the chef’s kitchen, or drive a route known only to locals. We curate journeys that allow for those moments of genuine discovery, while ensuring the overall experience feels seamless and considered.”
