Our Story

Owned and operated by Christian, Dianna, and James Brown, The Brown Initiative is a performing arts company specializing in live music, DJing, and stage performance.

The Brown Initiative’s live band, Meet Me on Marcie, is an eclectic group of musicians from varying musical backgrounds. Meet Me on Marcie perform all musical styles, from R&B to pop punk, to hip-hop to jazz funk. The band features lead singer/saxophonist Christian Brown, lead singer/back-up drummer Dianna Brown, drummer James Brown, lead guitarist Todd Snee, rhythm guitarist/pianist Brandon Zajaczkowski, and bassist Dan Mastri.

Co-owner James Brown serves as TBI’s primary DJ. James’ talent for mixing, paired with his deep passion for music and highly-energized spirit, brings unmatched life to any event, from birthday parties to school dances to weddings.

Our annual r***e shows unify musicians and dancers from a wide variety of backgrounds and bring fresh live performances to NEPA. We strive to give artists, young and old, the opportunity to learn and perform repertoire that they may not experience in a typical classroom or studio setting.
