Lt. Colonel Kabini’s Address at the Heritage Celebration | 11 October

In his powerful address, Lt. Colonel Kabini raised pressing safety concerns affecting the Seabe community. He revealed that the issue that keeps him up at night is the rising number of house robberies in the area, particularly targeting individuals who have received Road Accident Fund (RAF) payouts. He strongly warned community members against publicly announcing their payouts, noting that a female-led criminal group is behind many of these attacks.

The Colonel also tackled the ongoing crisis of gender-based violence. He pleaded with victims not to withdraw cases after arrests have been made, as doing so undermines justice and community safety.

He further cautioned the public about the dangers of posting on social media without consent, reminding everyone to respect privacy and boundaries online.

On stock theft, he urged livestock owners to take better care of their animals, to report thefts promptly, and to brand-mark their livestock as a preventive measure.

His message was a call to action for vigilance, responsibility, and unity in safeguarding the community.
