"Dumelang batho bo botlhe ba Ward 27..." 👋

Simon Dimakatso Macheke also known as Honourable Macheke, has officially agreed to contest the upcoming local government elections, confirming that after careful consideration, he is stepping up to answer the direct call of the community.

While he notes that taking this massive step comes at a personal cost, requiring him to step away from his current occupation, Macheke says: "It's fine, only God knows"

Today we focus on a painful reality faced by many young people after the death of a parent. What happens when the person who held the family together is no longer there?

Many children and young adults say life changes completely after losing a mother or father. Some are forced to grow up too fast, facing financial struggles, emotional pain, and rejection from relatives. Others say they begin to feel like strangers inside their own families.

Community members say that after a parent passes away, family conflicts often begin over money, property, responsibility, and support. In some cases, children are neglected, treated differently, or made to feel unwanted in the homes they once called safe.

Young people affected by these situations say the pain is not only about losing a parent, but also about losing love, guidance, and a sense of belonging. Many struggle with depression, loneliness, anger, and stress while trying to survive daily life without proper support.

Social workers are encouraging families to protect and support children who lose parents instead of isolating them. Communities are also being urged to stand together and help vulnerable families during difficult times.

Experts say healing begins with communication, emotional support, and unity within families.

Last Saturday, May 23rd, our queen attended the highly anticipated crowning ceremony of the new MISS GRAND VALENTINE titleholders. Invited directly by the pageant’s founder, she proudly wore her official Queen sash, receiving well-deserved recognition for her massive contributions to the platform.

Her connection to this national stage goes deep! Ms. Kutumela is officially the Gauteng Director for the Face of Heritage SA platform.
