MARY MATJILA HITS R4.3 MILLION IN SALES, BRINGS OPPORTUNITY BACK HOME

In a powerful close to the year, Mary Matjila has emerged as one of the top national performers under BotleBuhleBrands, reaching an impressive R4.3 million in sales, a milestone that placed her in the Top 8 nationally and at #2 in Gauteng. But beyond the numbers and awards, what makes Mary’s story remarkable is how deeply rooted it is in purpose.

Her journey was crowned with the Personality Manager Special Award, recognizing not just sales, but heart, consistency, and leadership. Speaking about her motivation, she says, “There were a lot of things that could’ve made me sit down, but my responsibilities pushed me. I had no choice but to work hard.”

Mary’s greatest pride, however, isn’t just in her personal accolades it’s in what she’s giving back. “The biggest achievement for 2025 is bringing the BotleBuhleBrands opportunity to my home village and nearby communities,” she shares. From Pankop to Seabe, more and more locals are joining and thriving through the opportunity she introduced.

She continues to empower others with these words of advice: “When you want to achieve something, do it effortlessly ’ Without batho ba tlo reng, do it with passion!”

With free registration, no age or qualification limit, and free training, Mary says there’s no excuse not to grow: “We come as we are, and we grow for free.”

Mary Matjila isn’t just building a business, she’s building people. And her success is only the beginning.

SUNDAY REFLECTION | 6 DEC GBV MARCH

A week ago, voices rose in unity as women of Seabe took to the streets with a clear and powerful message: STOP GBV.

Though small in number, the marchers carried the weight of generations, standing firm for every sister, mother, and daughter who has suffered in silence.

As we rest this Sunday, let’s not rest our voices. Let’s continue the fight. Let’s protect each other. Let’s remember why we marched.

'Breaking News: Mass Shooting Rocks Sausville Hostels, 11 Dead, 14 Injured'

A devastating shooting incident at Sausville Hostels on 6 December 2025 has left eleven people dead and fourteen others hospitalized, with three young children among the victims, the youngest just three years old. The attack, which occurred at an illegal shabeen early this morning around 4:15 AM, is being investigated by a multidisciplinary police team.

Authorities were alerted at 6 AM and have launched a manhunt for three suspects. Eleven counts of murder and fourteen counts of attempted murder have been registered. The police are intensifying operations to crack down on illegal establishments, which have been linked to numerous violent incidents. Between April and September this year, nearly 12,000 such shabeens were shut down nationwide.

The Sausville community is in shock, and investigations are ongoing with forensic and ballistics experts on the scene. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims.

SEABE MARCH WITH A POWERFUL MESSAGE: “STOP GBV!”

Seabe, 6 December 2025 | With fists raised and voices unshaken, a determined group of women took to the streets in a powerful stand against Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Dressed in black and purple and marching under the scorching sun, they carried a bold banner reading “Break the Silence, Safe Street Safe House, Stop GBV”, refusing to let silence be the enemy of justice.

Though the turnout was small, the message thundered through the village with undeniable force. Passersby and motorists slowed down, hooting and cheering in support, the energy of the marchers was unmatched.

The event continued with a moving second part, where powerful voices took to the podium. The march was graced by a representative from the Women’s League, members of the Royal House, local political leaders, Religious leaders, and most impactfully, a GBV survivor who shared her story. Her testimony brought many to tears, reminding everyone why this fight is urgent and deeply personal.

Today’s march may not have filled the streets, but it filled hearts with courage, reminding Seabe that real change begins with those brave enough to rise, speak, and march.
