At KIFW, we’ve been making significant improvements in the quality and reliability of the radio service you depend on every day. Behind the scenes, over the past year, we’ve upgraded key technology, modernized systems, and strengthened our broadcast infrastructure to ensure KIFW remains strong for years to come.

Over the past few weeks, our Chief Engineer, Scott Mills, has been on-site, completing critical transmitter work. We’re pleased to report that all transmission issues have been fully resolved.

We want to sincerely thank our listeners, advertisers, and business community for your patience and continued trust as we’ve worked through these improvements. Your support allows us to continue delivering trusted local news and entertainment to Sitka and Southeast Alaska, just as we’ve done for generations.

Sitka is in Anchorage and ready to represent Southeast at the State High School Baseball Tournament. The Wolves take on South Anchorage this morning at 10 a.m. Catch the game live on KIFW AM 1230, FM 102.3, streaming at KIFWSitka.com or on the FREE Stika Media Center app.

Sitka heads into the tournament as the Region 5 champions. If they win today, they’ll face the winner of Dimond vs. Colony on Friday at 4 p.m. A loss would move them to the consolation bracket, with their next game Friday at 10 a.m.

9 year old Kaleb Gray, is the new Salmon Derby leader. He won the derby 2 years ago. This year’s first place prize is 29K!

A big shout out to our engineer Scott Mills. He continues his trek from Ketchikan, to Sitka and next week in Juneau to continue the constant upgrades to our radio stations!
