By Norma Dittman When the Midwest Honor Flight Mission 29 out of Sioux Falls took to the skies on Tuesday, May 5th, three area men were among the 84 veterans on board. Those men were Jim Oslund and Bill Bryan, Slayton, and Tom Noerenberg, Currie.

Depth, versatility, and total team effort defined the day as the Murray County Central boys track and field team captured the Section 3A True Team championship in Pipestone, scoring 614.5 points to pull away from a competitive field.

The Murray County Central Schools Rebel Boys Baseball Team is on a roll!

April 30 HLO/F at MCC The MCC baseball team was 9-0 on the season playing the Heron Lake Okabena Fulda Coyotes this last Thursday afternoon in Slayton. The Rebels knocked off the Coyotes earlier this season and were looking to remain undefeated on the year.

The Slayton postmaster informed us at 10:15 today that the cut-off for outgoing mail has been changed as of this week to 9:30 am. Our paper is generally delivered there between 10 and 11 each week. This means only the Slayton papers are going out in today's mail. We apologize for the delay and are hoping to rectify the situation in the coming weeks.

By Norma Dittman April 3rd, 2026 was a day of testing techniques, showing skills learned and receiving their Black Belts for Brynlee Farris and Cullen VanderBeek. Farris and VandenBeek are students of Warrior Training Academy in Fulda, They are also both freshman at Fulda High School.
