Due to the cold temperatures and deep frost levels, the City is recommending residents run water from a tap inside, preferably from a faucet that is hard water and not softened to keep service lines from freezing. Only a pencil lead sized stream of water from one faucet needs to run to prevent freezing. When the weather warms up don't be fooled, that drives the frost deeper before it thaws. Please run a stream until further notice. We have had a frozen service line already this week.

By Crystal Reith The Hadley Lions will host their annual chili challenge fundraiser on Saturday, Jan. 4 at the Hadley Community Center from 5 to 7 p.m. or until gone. This year, the Lions designated Brian Bakke, of Slayton, as the recipient of the proceeds.
