Caught up with senior captain Mike Petrucelly who is the program’s single-season home run leader with 11 in 2024 and is a 2-time All-Conference selection. The Panthers are coming off a 19-16 season in which they missed the Skyline Conference playoff by one game. They will kick off the 2026 season against Penn State Berks. It was less than a decade ago that East Hampton was in the midst of a 51-game losing streak on the diamond. Head Coach Vinny Alversa has turned around the program in a major way since then, as the Bonackers reached the Suffolk Class AA Finals in 2025 against East Islip. They began their season in emphatic fashion, sweeping the reigning Long Island Champs, Hauppauge, showing that they were not to be taken lightly. They were led by their 3 seniors who are now playing in college, and they now have 3 (soon to be 4) seniors who will be playing in college. Anchoring that group is All-County infielder Mason Miles, who will be playing at Bucknell University. While it was once extremely difficult to get noticed from Long Island’s east end, the landscape has changed which has allowed this crop of players from East Hampton to continue their playing careers. Trevor Dugan spoke with Miles as well as Alversa about East Hampton’s revival, the college recruiting process and the upcoming season

Body Armor Titans Quattrini and Titans LoRusso were co-champs of the Northeast Elite 17/18u tournament. Body Armor scored 31 runs and allowed just 1 in their 3 games. Titans LoRusso scored 22 runs and allowed 5. Mason Linken and Shane Meehan were named co-MVPs
