Found an historical gem, the Whittier School that was on the way to what is now the Good Neighbor Village. It was on the JBLM side near where the road started to curve at the top of the hill, before you got to the Spanaway Marsh.

A crash involving a car near 205th & SR7 in Spanaway on Thursday morning has killed a pedestrian.
The center and left lanes are blocked in both directions on southbound state Route 7 near 205th Street Court East for the investigation, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The incident was reported at 6:11 a.m. The intersection will be partially closed for an extended period, according to state trooper Daniel Southard on X.

Pierce County has four state designated watersheds. The Chambers Clover Watershed (WRIA12) includes Lakewood, University Place, most of Tacoma, Dupont, Spanaway, Parkland, Frederickson, Midland, Elk Plain, and the northwest part of Graham. This watershed is dependent on rain. For the past three years, the area has been under drought conditions. In October, it was at 54% of normal rainfall for the year....
