On Thursday, September 11, there will be a cleanup at the old Spanaway Cemetery according to Spanaway Historical Society past President Boojee Bowman. The volunteers will be trimming the grass, edging with w**d eaters, picking up branches and trash, cleaning a few headstones and general maintenance preparing for Fall & Winter. If you are interested in assisting, show up at 4 p.m. on Thursday the 11th and bring your work cloves, any useful tools, and something to keep yourself hydrated.

The Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) reported they released 532 Chinook salmon to finish their lives in Chambers Creek (see Escapement Report). St. Paul Lutheran Church’s Food Pantry, 22419 108th Ave E., Graham, is asking all gardeners to donate your extra produce (vegetables, fruit), on Thursdays- all day, or by 9am on Fridays. Please put your produce/fruit in the coolers located on the deck on the south side of the church building. St. Paul’s Food Pantry serves over 200 individuals weekly.
