Comstock Review Comstock Review is an independent poetry journal publishing since 1986 The Comstock Review is the poetry journal published by the Comstock Writers' Group.

An all-volunteer editorial board produces two issues annually, one annual poetry contest for single poem publication, and one biannual chapbook contest. Formerly known as Poetpourri, Comstock Review is noted among poets as a home for work by both noted writers and first-time publication. We welcome a diversity of voice, craft, and form in our two reading periods each year. You can read more about our submission guidelines, our contests, and our editors on our website

Once again, we have passed another contest year, and once again we at The Comstock Review would like to thank everyone who took the time to send us your work.

It has been another record year for submissions, and in these very difficult times, there are no words to adequately convey how much that means, and how much our readers and authors have meant to us.

We are humbled.

As we approach our 40th anniversary (it seems unbelievable!) we want to thank you again for being such amazing and conscientious writers. Poetry matters, you are telling us, and it matters now as much as it ever did. We all feel it in our bones.

Onward, my poet friends, onward. We will be here as long as you want us to be here. And we are ever grateful for that. Wherever life takes you, poetry will come along.

Embrace it.

with love,
your Editors.

We would like to thank everyone who submitted to our free open reading. It was another banner year for submissions to our journal, and it is gratifying to have so many friends and supporters.

In these challenging times, artistic expression feels more important and necessary than ever. And more threatened than ever. Every poem is an act of boldness and generosity of spirit, whatever sentiment may lie within. Art is an act of giving.

Thank you again for your continued support. Rapidly heading toward our fortieth year, we are aware of the greatness of the small legacy we help keep alive.

The Editors (happily going through your work!)
