RRC is a HUGE designation! This has been nearly an 8 year journey to get the city of Three Rivers here. This opens the doors for additional resources, including funding opportunities. Special thanks to Director of Community Development (John Beebe)for leading us as a community and as a tour guide to see major opportunities & some community successes. He also did a great job explaining how so many people filled so many gaps over so many years to make this happen.

Exciting to know I helped play a role over the years…
-as a citizen filling out surveys and attending community input events
-as a committee member for our 2020 Master Plan
-as a City Commissioner
-as a Housing Development Corp member
-as a SJC Housing Coordinator
-and currently as a Planning Commissioner
…and of course as a community promoter 📣

Special guest included:
- a representative from Governor Gretchen Whitmer office
- several Michigan Economic Development Corporation team
- many staff members (who helped make this happen from Three Rivers City Hall
- members (including the Executive Director) of Downtown Three Rivers DDA
- Members (including President and CEO) of the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce
- past & present Planning Commissioners
…and our Mayor was there to accept the award and share the benefit of dedicated people working together.
