😅When the week is hectic and you just need a quick, no-fuss escape with your husband, may I suggest sneaking away to historic Route 66? We did just this and finally tried out Red Light Chicken located on 11th Street—and wow, it did not disappoint! 🚗💨

I would describe it as the ultimate “no-frills, all the flavor” neighborhood spot. The energy is lively, completely unfussy, and full of that classic Mother Road charm. With plenty of easy parking right behind the building, it’s tailor-made for a spontaneous, “let’s grab a bite just the two of us” kind of evening. No reservations are required—just pure, relaxed comfort.

🍗 They served us some of the best crispy, golden-brown fried chicken I’ve had in a while. You can get their bone-in fried chicken and massive tenders regular or with some serious spicy heat! Either way, you can’t skip the Southern comfort sides. The mac & cheese and the green beans with bacon are savory perfection, and the warm honey butter rolls are delicious.

It’s fast, casual, incredibly satisfying, and the perfect reminder that date night doesn’t have to be complicated to be perfect. ✨

The kids and I are officially at work checking off our summer bucket list, and this next spot has been at the top—a absolute must-try. We cannot wait to head over to Vargas Frutería!

If you’re looking for your predictable, everyday ice cream shop... this isn’t it! Head off the beaten dessert path to this total hidden gem that turns sweet and savory treats into an absolute chef-d’œuvre!
They offer amazing dessert creations that really are a masterpiece—think vibrant, beautifully layered deliciousness that looks just as incredible as it tastes. But if you don’t have a massive sweet tooth, they also serve up some seriously mouthwatering savory items that balance out the menu perfectly.

It’s local, it’s unique, and it is definitely an experience we want to try. ☀️✨

We were so incredibly excited to welcome a sweet puppy to our hearts and our home today. 🥰

We couldn’t have had a better experience, and it’s all thanks to the amazing team at Puppy Haven Rescue in Bixby. If you aren’t familiar with this incredible Tulsa-area non-profit, they are doing truly life-saving work right here in our community. They rescue dogs of every breed, size, and age who have been neglected, abandoned, surrendered, or forgotten, and give them a well-deserved second chance at a forever home.🏠

What we love about Puppy Haven Rescue is just how much love, care, and intention goes into every single dog. During the adoption process, they ensured that we were fully ready for this pup and that our home was the right fit. Before their pups ever head to their forever families, Puppy Haven provides:
🩺 Top-Tier Veterinary & Medical Care: From essential checkups, vaccinations, and puppy formula to taking on complex, critical medical cases that need extra love and specialized attention.

Downtown Bixby is having a moment, and I am here for it! I was so excited to look into a gym I passed recently that caught my eye. I love the idea of going to a place that’s not overwhelming and crowded—

cue Push Performance Training, Bixby’s premier boutique strength and personal training facility.

🏋️ WHAT I LEARNED:
Push Performance isn’t a crowded, chaotic commercial gym. It is a highly focused, results-driven space dedicated to a single mission: helping you break barriers, build functional strength, and move better than you ever thought possible. It is led by elite head coach Jonathan Catlett, and a powerful community tribe that cheers you on.

I actually had the opportunity to train with Jonathan in my early 20s, and I can definitely say it was the exact catapult I needed into my fitness journey!

🔥 Parents of Tulsa, welcome to the ultimate energy-burner! 🔥

We checked out the brand new Fun City Adventure Park, and let me tell you, my two boys pushed their limits, conquered the courses, and are currently fast asleep in the back seat. Mission accomplished. 😴🙌

If you have high-energy kids, this place is an absolute game-changer. Here is a quick breakdown of what my boys couldn’t stop talking about:

• The Ninja Warrior Course & Battle Beams: They spent solid time channeling their inner stuntmen, trying to knock each other off the beams and racing through the obstacles.
• The Trampolines & Foam Pits: High-flying flips, safe landings, and zero screen time involved.
• Bumper Cars & Climbing Walls: There is so much packed into this indoor space that they didn’t even have time to say “I’m bored” once.

My favorite part was that the facility is CLEAN, and the layout makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids while they explore. If you’re looking for the perfect weekend activity or a spot to host an epic birthday party, this is it.
