'Blue Devils on Broadway' was held Tuesday night in the Wayne Jr/Sr High School gym. Check out these snapshots captured of their smiling and focused faces during the spring concert! The kindergarten class performed "Seventy Six Trombones" from The Music Man (video), the second grade class sang songs from Oliver and the first graders also sang "It's a Hard Knock Life" and more.

Wayne High hosting Platteview Tuesday evening. Senior first baseman Drew Reinhardt just missed a chance at extra bases down the right field line in the bottom of the fourth. Do you remember this from 10 years back? Marta Pulfer, daughter of Kent and Jodi Pulfer, and a junior at Wayne High School, earned the highest possible ACT Composite score of 36. Nationally, while the actual number of students earning the top score varies from year to year, on average, less that one tenth of one percent of students who take the ACT earns the top score. In a letter from the ACT chief executive officer recognizing this exceptional achievement, the CEO stated, "Your achievement on the ACT is significant and rare. While test scores are just one of multiple criteria that most colleges consider when making admission decisions, your exceptional ACT Composite score should prove helpful as you pursue your education and career goals."

From Winside Public School: A new school record was achieved by Hadleigh Schutt at the LCC Bear Invite on April 21 during the shot put event. During her winning mark of 38' 6", she surpassed the previous school record of 38' 4.75" (2008) by Hillary Lienemann.
