The Burke County esports team went 2-7 last week, winning only one game of Super Smash Bros and a Mario Kart 8 game via forfeit. Some matches were complicated a bit by network issues and BCHS’s homecoming week. Tuesday’s matches had to be rescheduled after a BCHS network update, and their Rocket League team played in a 2v3 in a rescheduled match on Wednesday.

William Knight Jr., a 2018 Honor Graduate of Burke County High School, was an outstanding two sport athlete. He played varsity football for three years as quarterback and four years of baseball alternating between shortstop and pitcher. Bill was voted Region Offensive Player of the Year in football along with Region MVP in baseball his senior year and received an athletic scholarship at Mercer University where he played center field for the Bears and the Savannah Bananas of the Coastal Plain League before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business in just three years.
