Info from last night's deadly tornado.

The National Weather Service says an EF2 tornado destroyed a double-wide mobile home early Sunday morning that was bolted down on its basement foundation. One person died.

One week ago tonight, we were heading north on US-77, heading toward this gorgeous supercell near Herington. I've created a longer timelapse from all of the video I shot that night. Check it out! The link is in the comments section.

Last night north of Herington, Kansas. We saw a brief dust whirl under this huge, rotating beast of a storm.

The sirens sounded in Herington after we retreated south but we missed the ground circulation others saw at 8:17 p.m. (the time that the sirens went off in the opening).

Storm Team 12 Weather Alert Day has been posted for this afternoon and evening. Hail, wind and heavy rain are the biggest concerns. Any tornado threat, while low, would be along and north of I-70, for the Russell, Hill City and Phillipsburg areas mainly. Be weather aware!
