The Storm Prediction Center's preliminary count for Kansas today is 15. What a crazy afternoon and evening!

The appetizer brought 0.35" of rain to the Price's. Much more is on the way, with some isolated severe weather chances too. Keep it to the KWCH 12 News platforms today for the latest. If you're out and about, turn that radio dial to KNSS Radio as well.

Hear that sound? Our lawn is just soaking up this wonderful rain! Through 4:30 p.m., we've received 0.28" here. I know other places in the state have had much more!

A Storm Team 12 Weather Alert continues for a statewide heavy rain and flooding threat. Keep it to all of the KWCH 12 News platforms: on-air, on-line, Always On Storm Team 12, 12 News Connected and of course our Storm Team 12 Weather app.

I hope I didn't miss anything.

Stay safe.

I was finishing some radio weather cuts for Garden City and Ness City earlier when I saw this storm north of Goodland via radar. As you can see in the upper left panel, there's a decent hook echo/appendage on the southern edge of the storm. Using a live cam from YouTube, you can even see what appears to be a wall cloud too!

There are no reports of any damage as the rotation wasn't overly impressive from the scans I saw. Nevertheless, a decent-looking late September storm in the High Plains!

Increasing chances of rain, some of it heavy, Tuesday through Thursday.

Good night now.

Chiefs fans: we've had a few of you call to the station and report a movie is airing on our over the air signal on 12.1, instead of the game.

Please rescan your TV! This has to do with the temporary fix our engineers made prior to the final repairs made on the broadcast tower earlier this month.

RESCAN! Go Chiefs!

Hard to believe this storm was a year ago today. This supercell and its trailing sibling caused around $2.4 billion in damage. Video links in the comments.
