Meet the artists!
Meet high school senior Ashton Moore, South Alabama’s rising banjo phenom, yodeler, and singer. In just four years, he’s earned multiple bluegrass competition titles. Now, Ashton brings his passion to the studio with his debut session, “Blue Moon of Kentucky.”
Meet Troy University freshman, Sally Alkema, one of POPulus’s standout vocalists. With five years of singing and eight years as a trained violinist, she brings power and precision as both a background vocalist and twin fiddler on this release.
Meet Troy University senior Chase Dawson, POPulus’s featured fiddle player and mandolinist. Pursuing a career as both a performer and session musician at Troy, Chase shines as the featured fiddle player and co-producer on the Ilium Records release, “Blue Moon of Kentucky.”
Meet Troy University freshman Eli Logue, POPulus’s rhythm guitarist and bassist. A multi-instrumentalist since age eight, he brings his bluegrass roots to life, playing guitar, mandolin, and double bass on “Blue Moon of Kentucky.”
