David “Stringbean” Akeman was murdered, along with his wife Estelle, at their home in Ridgetop, TN in 1973. 🪕

He was a popular hillbilly entertainer on the Grand Ole Opry and Hee Haw, delighting audiences with his banjo-playing and country charm.
