Got a call about fiber damage to score board at the football field and there being a game coming up n a day or so. We were able to reschedule, and do a permanent repair to the fiber and terminate some spares for future. Splicing on an upside down trashcan under a desk isn’t even the weirdest situation I’ve been in 🤓🤓

🌟 Embracing New Challenges! 🌟

In the past, I've often turned down requests to work on existing systems that were installed and maintained by others. But in today's fast-paced world, I've realized that I'm ready to take on almost anything! This week, I wrapped up projects at a couple of hotels and was reminded why I prefer to work on systems I've installed myself.

One of the systems I tackled was around 13 years old—well beyond its life expectancy. Despite the challenges and budget constraints, I decided to take it on. Here’s what I accomplished:

🔧 Repaired one of the two DVR servers
🔧 Untangled and reorganized the setup
🔧 Installed two BNC patch cables
🔧 Implemented a cable management system
🔧 Replaced several power injectors
🔧 Fixed issues with indoor cables that had been run outside (not UV resistant, so they were deteriorating)
🔧 Replaced four cameras

While I wasn't overly impressed with the image quality or recording capabilities, the hotel manager and staff were thrilled to see the system revitalized! I cleaned up the manager's office wall and got cameras that hadn’t worked in over five years back online.

Let’s just say I might have a few more gray hairs from all the “what the” moments I encountered along the way! 🤣

Been seeing several posts and video clips of thieves walking up to peoples homes at early morning hours and entering them, ON CAMERA!!!! Imagine if they walked up to your home and when they pass the predetermined area or tripwire all cameras start flashing bright red/ blue lights and Rob Zombie’s Dragula starts blasting out of all the cameras as well!!! Those are features and this person would have to change their pants and it wouldn’t be at your house!

In a home we need to DETER criminals not just record them!
