Illegal Foreigners Arrested After Police Recover AK-47 and Illegal Fi****ms

By Mashamba Media
Mbyana ya Mahungu

Eleven suspects, including ten foreign nationals believed to be illegal miners, were arrested in Westonaria on Wednesday after police and mine security uncovered illegal fi****ms, ammunition and suspected mercury during an operation targeting illegal mining activities.

According to Gauteng police, the arrests followed a random search conducted by mine security officers who were monitoring the area for armed illegal miners. The operation led officers to two houses where eight suspects were found and searched.

During the search, security personnel recovered three unlicensed fi****ms loaded with magazines, along with a bottle containing a substance suspected to be mercury, commonly linked to illegal mining operations.

In a related development, two more suspects were arrested in the same area after being found in possession of an AK-47 rifle loaded with 31 rounds of ammunition and a pistol with four rounds of ammunition.

Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) were called to the scene and assisted with the arrests. All eleven suspects were taken into custody.

Police investigations further revealed that some of the suspects were tenants at a property owned by a South African male. The man was subsequently arrested and charged with harbouring illegal immigrants and defeating the ends of justice.

Authorities confirmed that the recovered fi****ms will be sent for ballistic testing to determine whether they were used in other criminal activities, including a shooting incident reported in Bekkersdal on 21 December 2025.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Westonaria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 29 December 2025. They face charges including possession of unlicensed fi****ms and ammunition, contravention of immigration laws, harbouring illegal immigrants, and defeating the ends of justice.

Police have reiterated their commitment to clamping down on illegal mining and related criminal activities across Gauteng.

Alex Woman Ran to KZN With R22 000 Stokvel Money

By Mr Lee
Mbyana a Mahungu

An Alexandra woman, Jabulile Moloi, who resides at 18th Roosevelt, is on the run after failing to pay R22 000 stokvel money owed to Mpumi.

According to the complainant, Moloi had promised to pay the money on 15 December, but failed to do so. When Mpumi followed up and pleaded with her to release the funds, Moloi allegedly ignored her messages and later blocked her.

It is further alleged that Moloi disappeared from Alexandra shortly thereafter, with information suggesting that she may have travelled to KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

When contacted for comment, Moloi admitted that she had left to “clear her mind” and confirmed that she currently has no money to pay Mpumi.

She further stated that she was unhappy about the matter being exposed publicly, saying the publication of the story will affect her dignity. Moloi added that, as a result, she would no longer pay the money, saying:

“I was going to give her the money, but since she decided to involve you guys and ruin my dignity, it’s a loss for both of us. I won’t pay her anymore. I won't pay her anymore. Why did she involve you guys?"

By the look of things, Moloi may be owing multiple people, although it is unclear how she reached this situation.
