GWM Australia gave us the keys to their Cannon Alpha Ultra PHEV a little while ago and said take it for a spin offroad. So we did!

This ute is the most interesting dualcab I’ve driven so far and to have a PHEV offroad is a new ball game entirely. So much power and so available made it fun whilst the twin lockers as standard made it supremely capable!

I want two. Not sure why but that feels like the right thing to do.

Just one more week till we’re down with Sunshine Trail Mandurah at the Mandurah Boat, Caravan, 4WD & Camping Show on Saturday October 11th!

Can’t wait to check out the latest additions on their vans which you might’ve seen we blasted one of their bad boys through the great central ti the NT, then back across the old eyre highway in SA on our way back to good old Western Australia!

I caught a glimpse of one of their 2025 models a few months ago and the progression from our ‘23 is fantastic! Also there’s monster truck rides soo… that feels like a good reason to go! 🤙

I hinted at this in my 70,000 review of the LDV T60 and I’m filled with inquisitiveness and excitement at what’s coming up!

Lots of thoughts like, how do I get the best angles? How do I record the sound? How do I tell the story? The ideas are like marvellous creation’s in my head. Popping and chewy. Don’t know if any of them are good but we are going to find out and enjoy the heck out of this ride!! 👌

I’m not racing though, haha. Can you imagine? I’d bin it pretty quick! What I do get to do is follow a local WA V8 Dirt Modified Racing Team. Falconbridge Racing. Get behind the scenes. See the action with exclusive footage from race events both trackside and onboard. Understand the effort, the skill and the story that goes into what it takes to make it in Motorsport!

That’s a long way from driving a stock T60 up a dirt hill and calling myself Dicey Ricey Offroad hey? As we approach 2k subscribers on the YouTube channel a sincere thankyou from me. Especially those who’ve supported me, subscribed, commented, messaged me, got offroad with me, invited me to events, invited me offroad, sponsored me, sent products for reviews and given cars for reviews to me. What amazing things have happened so far just from being willing to give it a go. 🙏

Now I do owe some followers an apology. Whilst I was grateful for your suggestions to apply for a recently advertised role with the 4WD 24/7 crew. I’m afraid my balls were all used up from driving the T60 into the riverbed up at Coolcalalaya! Maybe next time, however I’ll be nice and busy with Offroad Motorsport this summer. We’ll be right! 🤙

Sunset shots like this don’t just happen, they’re chased and found!

Actually that’s an extra large load.. completely happened upon an awesome “airstrip” to stop on and take some twilight shots in the Murchison, Western Australia. ✈️

Come on show us those sunset LDV shots! I’m just going to sit here and call out for interaction from LDV accounts internationally. Haha.
