Instagram has increased the number of images and videos you can add to a carousel post from 10 to 20!

Why is this a big deal?

Our industry is SO visual. The more opportunity we have for visual story telling the better. The more examples of our work we can show people, the easier it is for them visualise the outcome for themselves.

Use the extra images to take people on a journey. Don't just show before and after pics, show all the stages in between. Add some lifestyle shots too.

👉 Is someone in your tattoo studio for hours? Show how you look after them with images of them watching a movie while you work, or having lunch with you while you both take a break.

👉 Do you offer a little bevvie while someone is in your hair salon for a couple of hours? Show that too.

👉 What about shots of your client choosing their body jewellery?

There are so many different ways you can use the extra space to tell more of a story, increase your engagement and get better results from your marketing.

"All Leaders Are Readers"

This is part of a quote from Harry S. Truman (former president of the United States). It's all about taking the time to learn, grow your skills and become better at whatever you choose to pursue.

And while it's not just about reading these days (we can choose audiobooks, podcasts, YouTube videos, webinars, seminars, etc) learning and growing your skills is a key part of becoming a better business manager and leader.

We see this in our clients. And it's not about what level of education they have, or how "intelligent" they are.

Those that take the time to learn simply become better business people. And they are creating businesses that are easier to run, that have less "dramas", and are ultimately more profitable and rewarding.

Those that don't can sometimes get by on their determination, dominance, people skills, or other talents, but this can be short-lived and create inconsistent results.

Part of this is because of the skills that learners develop, but we believe that part of it is that they have CHOSEN to prioritise learning. It means choosing to think longer-term by allocating time to work ON yourself instead of just being busy IN your business.

Sharing ideas and learning from others is a big reason why we launched our Glam Collective client community. We run regular monthly workshops for our clients, plus we have a library of training videos and tools for them to access. All designed to make them better business people.

Take the time to learn and develop your skills, and you will be thankful in the years to come.

Get Clear on Your Personal Goals

Business can be all-consuming, especially when things are slow and we need to hustle to make ends meet, let alone grow our businesses.

But don't lose sight of your Personal Goals, what is really important to you and how you want to live your life.

We recently presented to a group of business owners about setting Personal Goals. The Glam team are big on setting business goals, but getting clear on your personal goals is just as important (maybe even more so).

And it was no surprise that hardly anyone in this business group had spent much time thinking about their personal goals. A few of them had clear business goals, but hardly any had documented personal goals.

And the risk of this is that the achievement of your business goals may then adversely impact your personal life, instead of helping you to achieve more personally.

We all know of people that are driven to succeed professionally but at the expense of their relationships, or their health, or just not enjoying what life has to offer.

As Stephen Covey says… there is no point climbing the ladder if you get to the top and realise that it has been leaning up against the wrong wall!

We have 9 different categories of Personal Goals that we get our clients to think about (in no particular order):

3. Health & Fitness
4. Travel & Experiences
5. "Me" Time
6. Investment Properties
7. Other Investments & Wealth Creation

Get clear on what’s important to YOU personally and then structure your business to align with that. Your business should be here to help you to achieve more in life, not rob you of a life.

Have a think about these categories over the next year, 2 years, 5 years and 10 years. And we encourage you to go through this exercise with your husband/wife/partner.
