I’ve never been so proud to live in this city.

Today, my family & I went to pay our respects to Parker at the memorial site. I was instantly overwhelmed with emotion seeing the love that has poured out for this little boy and his family.

As a Mom, I don’t have the words to describe the heartbreak I’ve felt the last 2 weeks. I can’t begin to imagine the pain Parker’s family is carrying right now, and I know there are no words that could ever make it lighter. I just hope they know how much love we are all wrapping them in. So many people are holding them close in their hearts. Families they’ve never met have cried with them, prayed for them, and hoped alongside them every single day.

Parker was loved. He was important. He was someone’s entire world. We will never forget him. 💙

To mark the passing of Parker, flags will be lowered at half-mast effective immediately at the Municipal Complex as well as Calgary Fire Department and Calgary Police Service facilities, from Friday, July 31 through Monday, August 3, 2026.

The Calgary Tower will be lit blue tonight in honour of Parker Wells. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic loss.
