A guaranteed floor isn't charity. It's infrastructure. We build roads so commerce can flow. We build schools so knowledge can grow. We should guarantee basic needs so that people can live. UBI plus food, clothing, shelter, and security for every human — not because they've earned it, but because existence is the qualification.

We keep trying to build solutions on top of people who are falling. Job training programs for people who can't eat. Recovery programs for people who have nowhere to sleep. "Personal responsibility" lectures for people earning less than survival. What if we started with the floor? Universal Basic Income plus guaranteed food, clothing, shelter, and security. Everything else gets easier from there.
