Moment fort pour le cinéma haïtien :  a été soumis par Haïti pour représenter le pays aux Oscars 2026 ( ), dans la catégorie du meilleur film international.

Après sa première mondiale à 2024, le film a poursuivi un parcours remarqué, remportant le « Prix du public, Meilleur long métrage québécois (Or) » au et une « mention spéciale du jury, New Flesh / premières œuvres », avant d’être présenté à Angoulême et dans de nombreux autres festivals à travers le monde.

« Ce film montre qu’Haïti peut raconter ses propres histoires avec une voix forte, originale et universelle », souligne le Comité Ayiti Oscars.

Périphéria est fière d’avoir coproduit le film avec et BHM Films (France), en collaboration avec (Haïti).

A defining moment for Haitian cinema: KIDNAPPING INC. has been officially submitted by Haiti to represent the country at the 2026 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

Following its world premiere at Sundance 2024, the film continued its celebrated journey, winning the “Audience Award, Best Quebec Feature (Gold)” at the Fantasia Festival and a “Special Jury Mention, New Flesh Competition,” before screening at Angoulême and many other festivals worldwide.

“This film shows that Haiti can tell its own stories with a strong, original, and universal voice,” noted the Ayiti Oscars Committee.

Périphéria is proud to have co-produced the film with Promenade Films and BHM Films (France), in collaboration with Muska Group (Haiti).
