“Positive vibes” has become an easy phrase. On Rastaman Vibration, it was never an escape.

Released 50 years ago, the album brought reggae to a wider global audience without separating music from resistance, spirituality and the right to be heard.

Ahead of The Wailers’ concert in Sofia, we look beyond nostalgia – at the sharper edge of the songs, the musical lineage carried forward by Aston Barrett Jr., and what it means to keep a legacy alive without turning it into a museum piece.

From 2 to 5 July, A to JazZ returns to South Park 2 for its 15th edition – with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Miles Electric Band, Nate Smith + Live Action, showcase discoveries from around the world, the Music Talks conference and four days of music under the open sky.

On Dinya, we take a closer look at this year’s programme, the artists we can’t wait to hear, and the festival feeling that makes the city softer, warmer and a little more musical every summer.🎶

A train station, a summer weekend, and a city ready to move differently. 🥳

On 20 – 21 June, Ocho Latin Fest returns to Sofia with music, dance, food, workshops and Latin American rhythms filling the Rotonda in front of Central Railway Station.

As media partner of this year’s edition, Dinya looks beyond the programme – into the people, place and spirit behind a festival that brings musicians, dancers, neighbours and passers-by into the same rhythm.
