Srinagar, 09 May, 2026: Crescent Public School, Naseem Bagh Srinagar, has once again brought laurels to the institution by achieving remarkable success in multiple prestigious academic, scientific and co-curricular competitions held across Kashmir in recent days. Students of the school showcased exceptional talent, confidence, creativity and academic excellence in science exhibitions, quiz competitions and debate events organized by Government & reputed educational institutions and organizations.

In one of the major achievements, students of Crescent Public School actively participated in the mega science event “Curious Minds,” organized under the aegis of the National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, in collaboration with SSM College of Engineering.

The event aimed to promote scientific temperament, innovation and creativity among students between the age group of 10 to 18 years. Students from Crescent Public School enthusiastically explored various domains including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Astronomy, Engineering, Infotainment and General Science.

The students delivered outstanding performances in various competitions and secured top positions in different categories. Mohammad Raamin secured 1st Position in the Model Exhibition, while Azeema Khan clinched 1st Position in the Poster Competition. Zain-ul-Abideen secured 1st Position in the Science Aptitude Test and Malik Fahad achieved 1st Position in the Debate Dome competition. Maryam also brought pride to the institution by securing 2nd Position in the “Talk for Teens” category.

The school management appreciated the dedicated efforts of coordinators Er. Bilal Ahmed Reshi and Miss Arshi, whose guidance and mentorship played a vital role in preparing the students for the event.

Mega Green Campus Drive At S.P. College Srinagar Reflects Rising Environmental Consciousness

Srinagar, 09 May,2026: In a remarkable display of collective environmental responsibility, Kashmir Concern in collaboration with S.P. College organized a mega plantation drive under the flagship initiative “Green Campus for Clean Air” at the historic S.P. College campus in Srinagar.

Several distinguished personalities participated in the event including Ajaz Bhat, SSP City Traffic Srinagar; Dr. S.D. Choudary, SSP Enforcement Tourism; NLCO Chairman Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo, Sheikh Tariq; Dr. Salim Khan, HoD Community Medicine GMC Srinagar; Ashiq Hussain; Lateef Bhat; the Vice Principal of S.P. College along with staff and students; Dr. Saleem Wani; Adil Shah; Irfan Gujju; Sadat Nasir Aslam; Rouf Tramboo; Peerzada Fayaz; and SP Qalander besides members of Kashmir Concern and various civil society groups.

The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 170 school students along with faculty members, environmental activists, volunteers and officials from various departments. Volunteers of Team Red played a key role in coordinating and successfully executing the plantation campaign.

The initiative aimed at enhancing the green cover within the college campus, spreading awareness regarding clean air and environmental conservation, and inspiring young students to actively participate in protecting Kashmir’s fragile ecosystem.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Touseef Bhat said, “Collaboration is the key to combating air pollution and restoring ecological balance. Today’s overwhelming response proves that when institutions, citizens and young students come together with a common purpose, meaningful change becomes possible.”

Srinagar, 06 May 2026: In a significant initiative promoting youth fitness and drug-free awareness, Bilaliya Educational Institute (BEI), Lal Bazar, Srinagar, successfully organised a Cross Country Run 2026 from Habbak Crossing to Eco Park Shalimar via Foreshore Road under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 345 students of classes 4th to 10th, reflecting a strong commitment towards building a healthy and responsible younger generation.

The run was flagged off by Chief Guest SSP Traffic City Srinagar, IPS Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, in the presence of Guest of Honour Dr. Mudassir Nabi, Medical Officer PHC Zadibal and Chairman BEI Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo, along with faculty members and parents.

SSP Traffic City Srinagar, IPS Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, said “Such cross country runs under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan are highly important in harnessing the energy of youth towards positive and healthy activities. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Jammu & Kashmir Police has launched a major crackdown against drug peddlers, including property seizures and strict legal action. However, this is a collective responsibility. I urge all parents to closely monitor their children’s activities and guide them, as the situation is alarming and demands joint efforts from society.”

Dr. Mudassir Nabi, Medical Officer PHC Zadibal, said “Substance abuse has severe side effects and long-term health consequences, impacting both physical and mental well-being. Awareness initiatives like this are crucial. All stakeholders including parents, educators, health professionals and law enforcement agencies must work in close coordination to eradicate this menace from our society.”

Tourism Department Kashmir In Collaboration With NTTA, NLCO Leads Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign At Zabarwan Park

Srinagar: As a part of ongoing UT wide campaign on “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) The Department of Tourism, through Tourist Office Zabarwan Park, conducted a high impact awareness campaign under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Zabarwan Park, at the banks of world famous Dal Lake bringing together institutions, civil society, and students in a unified call for a drug free society.

The programme was organised by the Tourist Office Zabarwan in collaboration with Nigeen Lakes Conservation Organisation (NLCO), Nigeen Tourist Traders Association (NTTA), Bilaliya Educational Institute (BEI), J&K Hotel & Restaurant Association (JKHARA), and TAEAM IND. Restaurant. Budgam, 02 May, 2026: In a spirited effort to promote a healthy and drug-free society, Cardiff School Charari Sharief, Budgam organized a vibrant cycling rally under the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, themed “Pedal for Health.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, staff and members of the local community, reinforcing the message of fitness and social responsibility.

The rally commenced from the Old Bus Stand Charari Sharief and concluded at the Sports Stadium Alamdar Basti, covering key areas of the town and drawing significant public attention. Participants rode with banners and slogans advocating a drug-free lifestyle, creating a visible and impactful awareness drive.

Major Faizan of 53 RR, who attended as the Chief Guest, commended the initiative and encouraged students to adopt discipline, physical fitness and positive habits while steering clear of substance abuse. Officials from the local police and health departments, along with media representatives, were also present, reflecting a coordinated community effort against the growing menace of drugs.

Major Faizan added, “This is a national cause and whatever support is required from our side will be extended. We fully stand with and support the Cardiff School initiative.”
