New Transmitters
The installation of new transmitters for channels 4, 5, 9, and 11 will be done next Wednesday and Thursday 9/17-9/18/25. Short outages will be experienced one channel at a time during the process. As always we will try to keep these outages as short as possible.

PROJECTS AND CHANNEL INTERRUPTIONS
It's been a while since I posted but I do want to keep everyone updated. Of the 4 big projects this summer 2 have been completed. They are the installation of the new electrical service and the installation of a backup generator. The next project is the installation of 4 new transmitters. I do not have exact dates yet but we anticipate this work will take place within the next couple of weeks. The new transmitters will replace those currently in use for channels 4, 5, 9, and 11, the 4 major networks. When this work takes place each of these channels, one at a time, will be off the air for a short time. The work will take place over a two day period, I will let you know the exact dates as soon as I know. During this 2 day period we will also be working on adding some new channels. We hope to add Biz TV, Fun Roads TV, Right Now TV, AMG, Mainstreet TV and Scripts News.
The last project of the year will be the installation of a new lighting system on the tower. That will probable take place late this fall and will require that all channels be off the air for part of a day. Again, I do not have an exact date yet but will let everyone know as soon as I do. Projects like this are never easy and often times unanticipated challenges pop up that can quite frankly be very frustrating, but we'll get there. I personally am looking forward to an uneventful winter. Stay Tuned.

Work is moving along well at the transmitter building. All outside work is done. Hope to hear soon that we are ready to fire things back up. Stay tuned, will let you know when we are back on the air

ALL DAY OUTAGE HAS BEGUN
All Selective TV channels are off the air as the electric service to the Selective TV transmitter building is being replaced.All channels should be back on the this late afternoon or evening. You may have to rescan to reaquire the Selective TV channels after the work is completed.

There was a secondary issue yesterday that had to do with the transmitter which we had to replace, so if you still don't have 41 do a rescan.

CHANNEL 41
The antenna work for channel 41 was completed today giving Selective TV a much improved signal. Now would be a good time to rescan if you haven't already to lock those channels in.

ALL DAY OUTAGE COMING NEXT WEEK
All Selective TV channels will be off the air either next Thursday July 24th, or next Friday July 25th, depending on the weather. This will be an all day event affecting all channels as the entire electrical service to the Selective TV transmitter building is replaced and updated. All broadcast equipment must be shut down during this process. All channels should be back on the air for evening viewing. Your patience is appreciated as this essential work is done.

CHANNEL 41 UPDATE
We have heard from a number of viewers in regard to the issues with channel 41 and have been working on it. It appears that two things are causing the problem. One is the troposheric ducting, (skip), which has been bad this year. The upper atmosphere has been extremely active with cold air and warm air moving in and out of the area as we have all witnessed with our above average rainfall. The second problem is the low signal strength on the ION channels we are receiving in the Twin Cities. The troposheric ducting we can't do anything about. However the signal strength issue we can address. We are working with Northern Antenna to install a new antenna system in the Twin Cities which should dramatically improve the strength of the signal we transport from the Twin Cities to the Selective TV transmitter building. We hoping to have this work completed next week. In the meantime I will remind everyone that rescanning your television will not help. As soon as the work is done and we see improvement I will let you know and then you can rescan. Stay Tuned.

ANNUAL MEETING
The Selective TV annual members meeting is this coming Monday July 7th at 7:00PM at the Ida Township Hall. The township hall is at 4700 County Road 6 NW Garfield. All current members and anyone with an interest in local over the air television is welcome to attend. It's a great opportunity to meet the board of directors and get any questions you may have answered. Hope to see lots of viewers there.

CHANNEL 41
There is currently an issue with channel 41. Everything at the Selective TV transmitter is working as it should be. There seems to be either a reception problem in the Twin Cities, or a signal strength problem with the ION transmitter in Big Lake. We are doing what we can to get it resolved. It could be related to tropospheric ducting in that part of the state we just are not sure but we are aware of it and hoping it clears up soon.
