A Florida man in his 40s developed yellow nodules on his palms, soles, and elbows after eating 6 to 9 pounds of cheese, butter, and high-fat hamburgers every day, according to a JAMA Network report published on January 22.

He had followed a strict carnivore diet for eight months before noticing the yellow discoloration for about three weeks.
When doctors tested his blood, they found his cholesterol had skyrocketed to over 1,000 mg/dL, compared to his usual range of 210–300 mg/dL.

The painless nodules were diagnosed as xanthelasma, a condition linked to extremely high cholesterol levels.
Despite this, the man said he experienced weight loss, better energy, and improved mental clarity while on the diet.

A new transparency feature on X has revealed that many major MAGA-aligned accounts claiming to be American conservatives are actually run from countries such as Russia, Nigeria, India, and Thailand.

The tool, called “About This Account,” shows details like an account’s true location, username history, and where the app was downloaded. As soon as it rolled out, users began uncovering influencers who were misrepresenting themselves as U.S. patriots.

Several high-profile accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers were shown to be operating overseas, despite promoting strong pro-American, pro-MAGA identities.

The discoveries have reignited concerns about foreign interference, misinformation networks, and the growing presence of inauthentic political activity on X.

Scientists at the University of Cologne have discovered an antibody with some of the broadest HIV-neutralizing abilities ever recorded. The antibody, called 04 A06, targets a common CD4 binding site that appears across hundreds of HIV variants.
Because of this shared target, it was able to block infection in lab tests and suppress the virus to undetectable levels in humanized mice.

China has officially unveiled its newest large autonomous drone, the Wing Loong X, at the Dubai Airshow 2025. Although it looks similar to earlier Wing Loong models, this version is reported to be the first UAV in the world capable of fully independent anti-submarine warfare (ASW).

If confirmed, this would be a major breakthrough. Anti-submarine missions are considered the most complex and demanding tasks in maritime aviation. The Wing Loong X is also massive, with a wingspan of more than 65.6 feet (20 meters) — about the size of a small business jet.

The drone can fly for up to 40 hours without interruption and reach a ceiling of 32,808 feet (10,000 meters). This allows it to stay over key maritime chokepoints for nearly two days, constantly monitoring the waters below for submarine activity.

This endurance is something manned aircraft like the U.S. Navy’s P-8 Poseidon cannot achieve due to crew fatigue and high operational costs. One of the drone’s key features is its ability to deploy sonobuoys — small floating sensors that listen underwater for submarines.

Traditionally, only manned aircraft could drop these devices, which are used to analyze underwater sound and guide ships or helicopters toward potential submarine threats.

A 22-year-old man named Artem from St. Petersburg, Russia, lost the ability to walk after becoming severely addicted to energy drinks.

He started with one can a day but eventually increased his intake to 3–5 cans on an empty stomach, often while gaming for long hours.
Artem was first hospitalized with abdominal pain, vomiting, and nausea, where doctors diagnosed him with pancreatitis, but the condition kept coming back.

YouTuber Luke Maximo Bell and his father, Mike Bell, built a 3D-printed quadcopter in their small garage using custom electronics and rapid-prototype components.

Their drone, called the Peregreen 3, reached 360.4 mph on June 22, 2025, in Dubai’s Al Qudra desert, surpassing the previous Swiss record of 347 mph.

Guinness World Records has officially certified it as the fastest battery-powered remote-controlled quadcopter ever recorded.

The Dubai Unmanned Aerial Systems Center supported the team through repeated test flights in temperatures above 110°F, helping them push the drone to its limits.
Guinness confirmed the record after months of coding, engineering upgrades, and precision testing.

Elon Musk announced at Wednesday’s US–Saudi investment forum that his AI company xAI will build a 500-megawatt data center in Saudi Arabia — the largest facility the company will operate outside the United States.

The project is being developed in partnership with Humain, Saudi Arabia’s state-owned AI startup, and will rely on Nvidia chips.
It follows Musk’s ongoing push to scale xAI quickly to support Grok, coming after his recently announced 300-megawatt data center in Memphis.

Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom Holding Company was also one of the major backers of Musk’s takeover of Twitter.

However, the new data center faces challenges because Saudi Arabia still cannot purchase Nvidia’s latest AI chips due to export controls imposed under the Trump administration.

China has launched the world’s first 10G broadband network in Sunan County, Hebei Province, developed jointly by Huawei and China Unicom.

The new system delivers download speeds of up to 9,834 Mbps, upload speeds of 1,008 Mbps, and latency as low as 3 milliseconds, powered by advanced 50G PON technology.

The network dramatically improves data performance for cloud computing, VR and AR applications, 8K video streaming, and smart home systems.
For example, a 20 GB 4K movie that typically takes 7 to 10 minutes to download on a 1 Gbps connection can now be downloaded in under 20 seconds.

This rollout places China ahead of countries like the UAE and Qatar in next-generation broadband deployment and is expected to significantly benefit sectors such as healthcare, education, and agriculture.
