"Liquid Light - Birefringent Spoons"
A little more abstract this week. This photo explores the Birefringent properties of a plastic spoon, creating colorful rainbows.

Image was created with a single plastic spoon, a laptop screen (polarized light source), a linear polarizing filter, and a prism filter.

"Reflections of Mortality" in the style of Georges de La Tour

This weeks challenge was to create a photo inspired by the style of a visual artist. I picked 17th century painter Georges de La Tour who is well known for a minimalistic symbolic style such as seen in "The Penitent Magdalen".

52 Frames Street Details: "Refracted Perspective"

In Seattle, I walk over Post Ave daily and admire these glass light globes that almost puts this street into another world. Nearby is the very popular Owl 'n Thistle Irish Pub. Today the sky was overcast, and I lost hope of having any interesting shadows. Ironically the overcast sky brought its own beauty to these lights, as I noticed how the buildings were refracted through the glass.

Theme: Use the wrong lens

I feel like I'm on a common theme with my last few photos, with eyes and glasses. The star is one of my "Polish Chickens" which are known for their feathered crest. Inspired by various animal close-ups, I decided to pull out my 10mm lens (which has heavy distortion).

“Focus”

It's surprising to think that I spent most of my life avoiding the need to wear glasses.

Not my first idea for this week, but I really wanted to capture the crisp focus as seen through the lens of the glasses, vs the difficulty of the world around.
